L'ex wrestler della WWE Jack Swagger, attuale Lucha Underground Champion (dove lotta con il ring name Jake Strong), è stato ospite del podcast del giornalista di ESPN Ariel Helwani, dove ha svelato che il suo debutto nel mondo delle MMA avverrà il 26 gennaio durante l'Heavyweight Grand Prix Finals al The Forum di Inglewood, in California, dove affronterà il quarantunenne JW Kiser, atleta che, a livello professionistico, ha disputato un solo incontro (perso) nel mondo delle arti marziali miste.
