E' deceduto a 41 anni in seguito ad un incidente con la moto.

Era diventato da pochissimo campione Jr della All Japan.

During a tearful press conference, Jun Akiyama praised Atsushi Aoki as a friend, colleague, and someone he and All Japan Pro Wrestling could rely on no matter what. He also said the police called him instantly when Aoki was hospitalised, and he was the first to arrive.
