WWE Smackdown Tapings 24/8/12

- Thanks to Eric Shane for the following WWE SmackDown spoilers from tonight's tapings in Bakersfield, California:

* Lilian Garcia kicks things off and gets a nice reaction from the crowd.

* Teddy Long is the announcer with Michael Cole since Josh Mathews is out this week.

* Randy Orton opens SmackDown and talks about what happened on RAW. Orton wants a shot at the World Heavyweight Title and issues a challenge if anyone has a problem with that. Sheamus comes out to a big pop. Sheamus agrees that Orton should get a title shot. This brings Alberto Del Rio out, who also wants a title shot. Booker T appears and books Orton vs. Del Rio with the winner facing Sheamus.

* Ryback vs. Jinder Mahal is up next. Ryback cuts a promo on Mahal before the match. Ryback gets the win.

* Layla beat Alicia Fox with Kaitlyn on commentary. Good back and forth match for the Divas. Kaitlyn and Layla came face to face in the middle of the ring after the match but shook hands. Eve Torres ran down and raised both of their hands for some reason.

* Backstage segment with Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero arguing with Sheamus, who dares Ziggler to cash in tonight.

* Sheamus beat Dolph Ziggler by DQ after getting hit with the briefcase. Ziggler continues the attack and goes to cash in his title shot but Sheamus gets back up and Dolph leaves.

* Santino Marella comes out and talks about his reign as United States Champion but is interrupted by new champion Antonio Cesaro and Aksana. Santino attacks Cesaro but Aksana distracts the Cobra. Cesaro ends it by laying Santino out.

* Backstage segment with Del Rio yelling at Ricardo.

* Kofi Kingston and R-Truth defeat Epico and Primo.

* Matt Striker is backstage with Kofi and Truth. Titus O'Neil and Darren Young show up as do The Usos and Primo and Epico to start a big brawl.

* Booker and Teddy are backstage talking about the tag title scene when Eve comes in. She has done research on the next contenders and has everything organized. Booker is impressed.

* A Wade Barrett video airs.

* Alberto Del Rio defeats Randy Orton with Sheamus on commentary, There's a big brawl after the match with Ziggler joining in.

ormai si è capito che la WWE considera Sheamus markamente troppo forte (e grazie non perde un match 1vs1 dal table match per RR con Barrett) per far incassare Ziggler su di lui, mi pare evidente che Del Rio traghetterà il titolo tra i 2

O probabilmente Del Rio verrà sconfitto sempre da Sheamus a NOC, ma dopo un match talmente duro che l'incasso di Ziggler sarà facile....certo poi ci sarà il rematch e li devono inventarsi qualcosa, (Table, Cage) qualche stipulazione che permetta una vittoria "out of nowhere" e che non sia il normale 1 vs 1...quello devono tenerlo per ultimo (WM?) quando Ziggler anche markamente sarà diventato più forte (e turnato face?) ed in grado di chiudere la faida con le sue sole forze

che Sheamus possa uscire da un match con Del Rio distrutto al punto di subire l'incasso da parte di Ziggler ci credo poco e comunque dopo ci sarebbe l'HIAC dove in un 1vs1 Ziggler a battere Sheamus ce lo vedo poco, meglio un doppio cambio di titolo, Del Rio può battere sporco Sheamus, magari restituendigli l'errore arbitrale di SS, beccarsi a match concluso il Brouge Kick e poi subire l'incasso di Dolph e poi visto che tanto l'HIAC non è considerato il match risolutivo di un feud fare come l'anno scorso un TT nella cella infernale per favorire Ziggler

*Smackdown opened with Randy Orton discussing what happened on Raw. He said he wants a World title shot and challenges anyone who has a problem with that to come out and face him. WWE World champion Sheamus hits the ring. He comes out and agrees with Orton that Alberto Del Rio is a complainer. He wants Orton to get a title match as well. GM Booker T comes out and asks the crowd if they want the match. Alberto and Ricardo come out complaining about what happened at Summerslam and Raw. Del Rio says he wants a rematch with Sheamus and calls Sheamus a cheater. He claims there is a conspiracy against him. Booker agrees to give him a rematch but against Orton, with the winner then getting a title shot at Sheamus. Orton vs. Alberto tonight is the main event.

*Teddy Long is doing commentary with Michael Cole as Josh Mathews is still out from what happened with Kane at Summerslam.

*Ryback cuts a promo swearing revenge on Mahal before their match. The fans chant "Feed Me More." Ryback vs. Mahal. Ryback with the ground and pound offense as USA chant breaks out. Ryback rallies from Mahal offense. He uses a powerslam and the muscle buster for the win.

*Kaitlyn comes out for commentary. WWE Divas champ Layla defeated Alicia Fox. Back and forth match. Fox kicks Layla's bad knee, knocking her off the second rope. She uses a one legged Boston Crab. Layla comes back and nailed the Chick Kick for the win. After the match, Kaitlyn and Layla enter the ring and have a staredown. They shake hands. Eve Torres comes out and raises both their hands as they are confused.

*Live in the venue, they honor the National Guardsmen in attendance.

*There is a backstage vignette where Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero run afoul of Sheamus. He challenges Ziggler to cash in his briefcase tonight and Ziggler backs off. However, Teddy Long informs him they will indeed wrestle tonight.

*Raw rebound looking at the CM Punk-Jerry Lawler situation.

*WWE World champion Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler by DQ when Ziggler smashes him with the briefcase. Early on, there is a feeling out process and Sheamus is in control as Ziggler bails. Sheamus goes to the outside and is nailed. Ziggler controls the match and nails a spike DDT. Sheamus rallies and goes for the Brogue Kick but is nailed with the case. Ziggler nails him again and teases cashing in but the referee takes too long and Sheamus recovers so Ziggler splits.

*Santino Marella cut a promo talking about losing the United States title and recapping the last 166 days. He then starts talking to the Cobra asking him if they are still on the same page. WWE United States champion Antonio Cesaro and Aksana come out. Cesaro calls himself a winner in several languages. Santino attacks him but Aksana distracts the Cobra. Yes, that's what happened, allowing Cesaro to lay out Santino.

*Backstage, Alberto is yelling at Ricardo.

*Wade Barrett video piece.

*WWE '13 commercial.

*WWE Tag Team champipns Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Epico and Primo. Challengers get upper hands on Kofi. He plays Ricky Morton before making hot tag to R-Truth. Ron goes for his finisher. All four brawl. Truth finally gets the pin. Champs and the Prime Time Players, who were at ringside, jaw back and forth.

*Backstage, Matt Striker interviews Kofi and Truth. Primetime Players show up and badmouth Little Jimmy. Usos, Epico and Primo get involved and all four brawl.

*Video feature on Brock breaking Lesnar's arm.

*Backstage, Booker T and Teddy Long go over the Tag Team situation trying to decide who deserves the next title shot. Eve Torres shows up with a listing of won/loss records and shows Booker she has organized his schedule. Booker praises her and she blows off Teddy.

*Alberto Del Rio defeated Randy Orton. Sheamus is at ringside to commentate. Orton chants early as he took advantage. Del Rio returns fire with kicks and a neckbreaker. Orton nails an RKO, which sends Alberto to the floor. He nails Orton on the floor and works over his arm. Del Rio works over Orton, who makes a comeback. Alberto goes for the cross armbreaker but Orton stays oin offense with another near fall. Orton nails a DDT and goes for the Predator Stomp. He goes for the RKO but Del Rio avoids it and locks on the cross armbreaker and Orton taps. Del Rio shoves down Ricardo, who is trying to celebrate and throws a shoe at Sheamus. They brawl and Sheamus is KO'd with a shoe. Dolph hits the scene with the briefcase but Orton nails him with an RKO and runs off Alberto, who sneers at Orton and Sheamus to close the show.

Dark:

*John Cena pinned Big Show in a No DQ match. Show stalled a lot early. They battle on the outside. Show tosses Cena into the ring and stomps him. The usual Show offense before Cena tries to rally out. Cena goes for a slam but fails. Show takes the mic and trashes Cena. Show uses a bearhug and misses a Vader Bomb. Cena rallies with all his big moves but Show clotheslines him. He goes for the Knockout punch but Cena ducks and nails the Attitude Adjustment for the pin.

Sorprendente la vittoria di Del Rio su Orton, peccato che ciò comporti un ulteriore match tra Del Rio e Sheamus, cosa assolutamente non entusiasmante indipendentemente da chi uscirà campione a SummerSlam.

Bene Ziggler che ora trova davanti alla sua strada Orton, che non è ai livelli di Jericho ma, tolto per l'appunto Y2J, è quanto di meglio gli potesse capitare.

Scongiurato l'incubo Barrett, sia dal match titolato (per ora), sia da una possibile faida con Orton.

Se viene tolto anche Bryan dallo show però, la vedo dura riuscire a seguire Smackdown. Zona titolata abbastanza disastrosa, Cesaro che feuda con un comedy wrestler, e Ziggler costretto a riproporre sempre gli stessi segmenti. Credo di non aver mai visto qualcuno provare così tante volte ad incsssare la valigetta...

Molto importante questa sconfitta di Orton. Del Rio guadagna una bella vittoria che gli da comunque importanza e soprattutto lo rende credibile perchè ricordiamo che Orton sarebbe l'unico in grado di competere con Sheamus in chiave mark. QUindi ottimo. Spero che adesso Orton non faccia l'arbitro nel match tra i due(ho letto la notizia sul sito) perchè altrimenti sento puzza di turn per Randy e credo che sarebbe una piccola vaccata. Per il resto Stanno costruendo qualcosa sulle divas , nulla di che però stanno costruendo qualcosina ... molto significativa la cosa.

Importantissima vittoria, per Del Rio, Orton non ricordo l' ultima volta da quando è face che abbia ceduto ad una mossa di sottomissione. Spero che finalmente a Night Of Champions Albertone Bello possa diventare finalmente World Heavyweight Champion.
