MAJOR DEPARTURE FROM TNA

Numerous sources within TNA are confirming that Don West, who has been with the company from day one as an announcer before moving on to head TNA's Merchandise end during the summer of 2009, has given TNA notice that will be finishing shortly with the company.
West, who had no previous experience working in the business, was brought in as an announcer for the company when they launched in June 2002. He and Mike Tenay soon became the company's announcing team, although West was also used at times as The Amazing Red's manager, which was a role he was very good at.

In August 2011, West was replaced by Taz as an announcer for the promotion, Wes was given a promotion behind the scenes and took over TNA's Merchandise end. West immediately went on the road full-time handling the company's autograph signings and doing "Don West Deals" live at the shows. West would trumpet special deals from inside the ring and the merchandise table, sort of a pied piper for selling shirts and DVDs, doing an amazing job at getting the company's merch sales up.

West, who first gained fame for Shop at Home, was famous for his unique and zany sales pitches, which at one point was parodied by Will Ferral on Saturday Night Live. West regularly created those pitches online via the ShopTNA.com websites. A number of people within TNA have noted that it's going to be "near impossible" to replace West's skills in the merchandise aspect of the company.

Going forward, West will be focusing on his website WildWestDeals.com.

Non sottovalutiamo la cosa, West era una parte molto importante del reparto merchandising della TNA. Non falliranno domani, è ovvio, però è una defezione che nel reparto merchandising (specialmente negli house show) si farà sentire.

Stavo pensando alle offertone oscene che proponevano talvolta.
Potrebbe esser un colpaccio in negativo.
Da notare il suo tremendo lavoro agli house show.

Prima Matt Morgan, poi Alex Shelley, ora Don West. Non vi sembrano strani tutti questi abbandoni nell'ultimo periodo (soprattutto questi ultimi due che sono/erano due bandiere all'interno della federazione)?

Ma infatti è ormai appurato che falliranno entro l'anno e Zio Vinnie rileverà baracca e burattini.

E'un po' che non tengo d'occhio shoptna.com però un giorno si e uno pure quando lo guardavo c'era sempre un video di West che proponeva tipo "3 magliette, 1 dvd, 1 action figure a 10 dollari" (per dire, non era così poco ovviamente) però se le facevano continuamente è probabilmente perchè andavano bene e c'era gente che le comprava...vediamo adesso che succede, ma se anche in TNA c'è chi dice che in quell'ambito era praticamente insostituibile vuol dire che pure loro sanno che il merchandising patirà un po' (tra l'altro stiamo ancora aspettando di sapere che succede coi DVD).

lentamente la TNA sta perdendo tutti gli atleti che hanno fatto la storia della TNA, la federazione deve iniziare a preoccuparsi seriamente.

E' già tanto che non spaccino Jeff Hardy ed Angle come TNA Originals.
E no, non potete fare doppi sensi su "Jeff Hardy" e "spaccino"

L'atleticità di Don West mi mancherà. Comunque, che palle gli Original. Non si può tenere lo stesso roster all'infinito. Iniziamo a immaginare un futuro senza Styles e Joe.

Dipende con chi li rimpiazzi eh.
Se al vertice ci metti Aries, Roode e Storm è un conto, se ci metti Garett mi tengo Styles per altri 56 anni eh.

Ovviamente. Però non si può piangere ogni volta che se ne va qualcuno. Un conto sono Morgan e Shelley, ma strapparsi le vesti per Don West è veramente eccessivo.
