Smackdown Tapings 06/01

- Thanks to Mandy for the following WWE SmackDown spoilers from tonight's tapings in Little Rock, Arkansas:

Dark Match:

* Skip Sheffield as Ryback defeated Jimmy Uso

SmackDown, Airing Friday:

* Cody Rhodes retains the Intercontinental Title against Booker T in the opener. They had a lengthy match. Cody hit the Beautiful Disaster after blocking the axe kick for the win.

* Backstage segment with Cody and Dustin Rhodes. Cody says he is better than Goldust ever was and will be better than Dusty one day.

* Zack Ryder is backstage talking with Teddy Long and says he's too busy to work for Teddy. Drew McIntyre came in as did Santino Marella. Teddy makes Drew vs. Santino. Santino will be Teddy's new assistant if he wins and Drew will be fired. If Drew wins, Teddy might not fire him. Aksana appears at the end.

* Backstage segment with AJ Lee and Alicia Fox. Daniel Bryan comes in and they talk about his match against Big Show.

* Hornswoggle won an Over The Top Challenge against Heath Slater. Slater attacked Hornswoggle afterwards until Justin Gabriel made the save.

* Hunico beat Ted DiBiase.

* Wade Barrett comes out and talks about he will win the Royal Rumble while Randy Orton watches from home. Sheamus interrupts. Jinder Mahal is out next and he joins Barrett in beating Sheamus down. Sheamus fought back but got hit with Barrett's finisher and a Camel Clutch by Mahal.

* Sheamus vs. Jinder is announced for next week.

* Santino Marella became the new Assistant to the General Manager by defeating Drew McIntyre. Teddy may end up firing Drew now.

* Primo and Epico beat Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston in a non-title match.

* Tamina squashed Natalya.

* Daniel Bryan defeated Big Show by DQ with the World Heavyweight Title on the line when Mark Henry interfered.

- Cody Rhodes defeated Booker T to retain the Intercontinental Title. Great match back and forth match that went over ten minutes, according to Terrence. Cody went for the BDK but Booker ducked it. Booker went for the Bookend, but Cody elbowed his way out. Book kicked him, hit the axe kick, and went for a cover, but Cody kicked out. Then Book tried for the axe kick again but Cody ducked it and hit a Beautiful Disaster Kick for the win.

- Backstage segment with Cody and Dustin Rhodes. Cody says he is better than Goldust ever was and will be better than Dusty one day.

- Hornswoggle beat Heath Slater in an over the top rope challenge. Heath beat on him and then sat him on the top rope. Horny slapped him. Heath was about to slam Horny over the top, but Horny grabbed his hair for the win. After the match, Heath beat down Hornswoggle until Justin Gabriel made the save.

- Hunico (w/Camacho) defeated Ted DiBiase. An okay match. The crowd was not into it until Hunico went for the flying head scissors and Ted hit a reverse face plant. Hunico went to work on Ted's left arm. The end came with Hunico using a submission pin type move. He trapped Ted's arms with his legs like a Rings of Saturn, then rolled him over for the pin and crossed his feet. Nice finisher.

- Wade Barrett thee Barrett's Barrage segment. Barrett said Orton is done and he will win the Royal Rumble while Orton sits at home and watches him. Enter Sheamus. Barrett and Sheamus went face to face. Jinder Mahal came out. They beat on Sheamus. He fought back while Wade hit the Winds of Change He left and then Jinder applied the Camel Clutch.

- Santino Marella defeated Drew McIntyre. Santino became the new assistant to the general manager with the win, while McIntyre's career on Smackdown is in jeopardy. Santino won with The Cobra. Comedy match.

- Primo and Epico (w/Rosa Mendes) defeated Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. A good tag match, according to Terrence. The usual high flying from Air Boom. The Colons work well together. Epico got the pin after Evan missed AirBourne.

- Sheamus vs. Jinder Mahal was announced for next week's show.

- Tamina defeated Natalya. The match was one sided and The Warrior Princess picked up the win.

- Daniel Bryan defeated Big Show by DQ in a World Hvt. Championship match. Mark Henry interfered for the DQ.

Mahal ha pure battuto Ezechiele a Superstars, credo vogliano "pomparlo" per renderlo quantomeno "lontanamente credibile" come avversario di Sheamus (in un feud da terminare prima della Rumble dopo aver avuto già vari scontri tra Smackdown e Raw).
Povero irlandese, davvero non sanno cosa fargli fare...

No comment su Horny che è meglio

Altro wrestler di Raw come assistente di Long, non so cosa pensare nel senso che poco mi può interessare
Almeno Santino avrà più visibilità

Su Bryan lascio ancora il mio giudizio in sospeso, era comunque ampiamente prevedibile che la prima difesa del titolo sarebbe terminata in questo modo.

Push per Tamina, prossima sfidante della Phoenix?

Cody sempre più avviato verso il feud con il fratello, mi fa piacere.

Forse alla Rumble è la volta buona che il carismatico duo perderà i titoli di coppia, vedremo.

l'avrà fatta veramente grossa...e pensare che se gestito bene poteva essere insieme a Barrett e Sheamus un papabile vincitore di questa RR(titolo che a dir la verità quest'anno meriterebbero in pochi, a partire dai due nominati che continuano a trasmettermi veramente poco)...

- Probabile Bryan vs Show vs Henry alla Rumble.
- Soprattutto Bryan non perde il titolo dopo 3 settimane.
- Bene o male un feud per i Tag Team titles lo stanno portando avanti.
- Cody mantiene contro Booker e punzecchia il fratello.
- Barrett ha un buon momento davanti a lui ora e se ha fortuna ci scappa anche un rematch con Orton a WM.

Che poi un turn di Drew ci può anche stare eh,dato anche il buon riscontro (soprattutto femminile) che ha avuto in questi mesi a Superstars. Il fatto è che i face made in WWE solitamente hanno 0 caratterizzazione (parlo dei mid/upper carders) e se ripenso all'MVP del pre-rilascio mi vengono i brividi
Lo stesso Sheamus ha raggiunto il suo apice tra il MITB e 2-3 edizioni post PPV,dato che lo gestivano come un tweener schiacciasassi..adesso è uno squasha-jobber che quando va bene fa promo con un nano..

dubito, a WM è difficile che propongano match già visti nei mesi precedenti, se davvero vogliono riproporre il MITB anche a WM, Barrett finirà li e come uno dei grandi favoriti IMHO
