Booker T kicks off SmackDown with a promo about how great 2011 has been. Cody Rhodes interrupts him and tells Booker T that he should leave WWE. Goldust hits the ring in a suit and tells Cody that he shouldn’t insult a legend. Cody insults his brother Goldust before agreeing with Booker T to have a 3rd match next week on SmackDown for the Intercontinental Championship. Cody attacks Goldust before leaving as Booker tends to his former tag partner after the assault.
1. Jinder Mahal beat Ted DiBiase via submission. Mahal beat him with the Camel Clutch.
Backstage, Theodore Long and Aksana are interrupted by Drew McIntyre. Long books McIntyre against Ezekiel Jackson and if he loses, he may get fired.
2. Alicia Fox and Kaitlyn beat Natalya and Tamina. After the match, Tamina turned on Natalya and laid her out with a top-rope splash.
Daniel Bryan and AJ are in the ring cutting a promo, but it’s cut short by Big Show. Big Show says that giants don’t need saving, after Bryan rushed to Big Show’s aid on Raw. Theodore Long comes out and reveals Big Show will face David Otunga tonight and Mark Henry is in Otunga’s corner. Bryan tells Show that maybe giants do need saving.
3. Hunico beat Justin Gabriel. Hunico beat Gabriel with a Swanton Bomb.
4. Big Show beat David Otunga (with Mark Henry). Daniel Bryan hit Mark Henry with the World title during the match, making Henry chase Bryan backstage. Big Show knocked out Otunga for the win.
5. Ezekiel Jackson beat Drew McIntyre. Jackson rolled up McIntyre for the win.
Backstage, McIntyre complains to Theodore Long – Long says he can’t stand losers who complain.
Sheamus hits the ring and talks about winning the Royal Rumble. Hornswoggle comes down and says he will win the Rumble! Heath Slater interrupts and tells Sheamus he is the best red-head on SmackDown. Sheamus tosses Slater over the top rope to end the segment.
6. Sheamus beat Heath Slater. Sheamus nailed him with a Brogue Kick for the win.
Backstage, Daniel Bryan and Big Show are with Theodore Long. Long announces Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship next week on SmackDown.
7. Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett ends in a no contest. Barrett threw Orton down some stairs and the match was immediately stopped. Orton was in severe pain after the match. No word yet on how this will play out on TV.
