Sì, l'ho rifatta alla luce di [R]Evolution.
Premessa: la maggior parte se non la totalità delle votazioni sarà di Wrestler WWE, visto che fatico a schiaffare gente della NJPW nella classifica.
PARTE I: Best of the Best of the Best of 2014
Wrestler of the year: Allora, è dura. Seth Rollins è partito dall'essere quello "meno considerato" dello Shield a diventare un Heel solido e convincente in molte situazioni, con un aumento vertiginoso della propria mic skill. Poi c'è Dean Ambrose, che ha monopolizzato RAW per un paio di mesetti, ma non è abbastanza per dargli questo premio. Ad NXT c'è Sami Zayn che sta facendo molto bene, ma ad inizio anno è stato un po' in ombra. E allora? E allora Ziggy, pochi cazzi. Qualità dei match sempre molto alta negli show settimanali anche quando i rivali non erano un granché (ad esempio la serie con Batista, decisamente godibile), un crescendo nelle considerazioni della dirigenza sino ad arrivare a Survivor Series. Mi piace pensare che sia riuscito a far ricredere la dirigenza, e questo traguardo lo mette sul podio di questo 2014.
Tag Team of the year: Ecco, qui la NJPW potrebbe subentrare. La divisione di coppia Jr è colma di talenti, su tutti gli Young Bucks. In WWE invece mi sentirei di premiare la Wyatt Family, autori di alcune prove molto buone. Vabbè dai, vada per i Wyatts che sono un loro mark.
Match of the year: Adrian Neville (c) vs Sami Zayn - NXT [R]Evolution
Feud of the year: Tre i miei candidati: Seth Rollins contro Dean Ambrose, Rusev contro Jack Swagger e Sami Zayn contro Adrian Neville. I primi perché sono riusciti a prendersi il Main Event alla faccia di Orton e Cena dopo un feud molto interessante e godibile, il secondo perché hanno dimostrato che due MidCarder poco apprezzati, seppur rinchiusi in una storyline giurassica, se si impegnano possono fare bene (nel senso che a me è piaciuto, poi voi non so) ed il terzo perché sono due fighi e hanno fatto il match dell'anno. Sì, scelgo Zayn-Neville.
Face of the year: Ziggler.
Heel of the year: Rollins.
Rookie of the year: Mi astengo.
Newcomer of the year: Kevin Owens.
Best female: Paige, indubbiamente.
Best in-ring performer: Ziggler, anche se Cesaro meriterebbe anche lui.
Best on mic: Paul Heyman, su.
Best gimmick: Erik Rowan, perché sì.
Most improved wrestler of the year: Seth Rollins.

Worst main event: Extreme Rules 2014 - Daniel Bryan vs Kane.

Worst feud: Il triangolo Henry-Show-Rusev.
Worst promotion: Ma che stracacchio ne so.
Worst turn: Nikki Bella a casissimo.

Quest'anno ho seguito troppo poco per fare qualcosa di significativo, una volta mi idvertivo pure a inventare categorie come "Miglior comedy match", "Promotion con le migliori themes", "Attire più strano", "Premio pensione", "Migliore/peggiore gimmick ispirata a un gatto", "Migliore/peggiore maschera".

Match of the year: Non ho seguito abbastanza per valutare quale sia il miglior match, e non mi va di votare il meno peggio. Restando alla sola TNA mi è piaciuto Hardys vs Wolves.
Feud of the year: Bully Ray vs Dixie Carter
Face of the year: Fenix
Heel of the year: MVP
Rookie of the year: -
Newcomer of the year: Bram, non gli davo una lira e invece è un buon midcarder
Best female: Gail Kim, ma menzione anche per Taya Valkyrie
Best in-ring performer: Gail Kim riesce a fare match decenti con chiunque. Quest'anno devo dire che mi son piaciuti molto gli Hardy, sia in coppia che in singolo.
Best on mic: Bully Ray
Best gimmick: Rockstar Spud
Most improved wrestler of the year: Pentagon Jr.
PPV / iPPV / Special Event of the year: Triplemania XXII, ma penso che anche Guerra de Titanes possa essere interessante
Promotion of the year: AAA, ma la Singapore Pro Wrestling mi sta gasando, potrebbe prendere il posto nel mio cuore lasciato vacante dalla SMASH
Comeback of the year: Shark Boy, nun ce lassà cchiù. Sono molto felice anche per Al Snow
Moment/segment of the year: Ultimo Guerrero perde la maschera contro Atlantis. In questo devo dire che il CMLL è molto avanti alla AAA, le luchas de apestuas sono molto più significative e danno veramente l'idea di assistere a un grande evento, e in qualche modo anche che il tempo non passa invano.
Shocking moment of the year: Snitsky e Big Zeke esordiscono per la TNA nello sconcerto degli smartoni di tutto il mondo
PARTE II: Mai dire wrestling 2014 - Tutto quello che non avreste mai e poi mai voluto vedere
Worst wrestler: per quel poco che ho visto di lui Darin Corbin. Però poveraccio, non è colpa sua se la WWE non la seguo più.
Worst tag team: le Beautiful People, non le sopporto più da anni
Worst match of the year: Havok vs Velvet Sky è il primo che mi viene in mente
Worst main event: quello di Bound For Glory
Worst PPV / iPPV / Special Event: non ho visto granché. BFG era sulla media di quello che ci si poteva spettare in quella situazione.
Worst feud: Great Muta vs Great Sanada
Worst promotion: Lucha Underground, anche se è uno show televisivo e non una promotion. Non ha nulla di caratteristico, solo una versione easy della lucha. Francamente molto deludente visto il roster e il budget a disposizione.
Worst turn: -
Worst Diva: Cameron ha raggiunto delle vette che credevo impossibili per un professionista WWE
Overrated wrestler of the year: Mr. Anderson
Underrated wrestler of the year: Tigre Uno
Worst treatment of the year: i Bad Influence
Worst gimmick: Mil Muertes, ma non mi piace nemmeno il nuovo personaggio di Syuri
Most disappointing wrestler of the year: gli auguro tutto il bene del mondo perché tra l'altro mi è stato simpatico dalla prima volta che l'ho visto, ma Matt Sydal l'ho ritrovato molto impacciato. Dopo un infortunio del genere lo capisco, ma temo un po' quello che successe ad Amazing Red una decina d'anni fa.
Worst newcomer/rookie: spiace dirlo ma i Von Erich
Worst comeback: Tommy Dreamer, quando lasciò la TNA era già da ritiro, figurarsi ora.

PARTE I: Best of the Best of the Best of 2014
Wrestler of the year: azzardo Seth Rollins più di AJ styles o Ambrose, se non altro perchè ha fornito in maniera più costante buone prestazioni al microfono e ottime sul ring.
Tag Team of the year: Wolves, una delle pochissime mosse azzeccate quest'anno ad Orlando.
Match of the year: Bryan vs HHH al primo posto seguito da evolution vs Shield. Per quel poco che ho seguito la NJPW quest'anno ricordo molto volentieri AJ Styles vs Minoru Suziki al climax. Nota per l'HIAC tra Rollins e Ambrose che però perde molto a causa del finale.

Tag Team of the year: Wolves, una delle pochissime mosse azzeccate quest'anno ad Orlando.
Match of the year: Bryan vs HHH al primo posto seguito da evolution vs Shield. Per quel poco che ho seguito la NJPW quest'anno ricordo molto volentieri AJ Styles vs Minoru Suziki al climax. Nota per l'HIAC tra Rollins e Ambrose che però perde molto a causa del finale.

Non è la prima volta quest'anno che leggo di grandi lodi a Io Shirai e sono curioso, anche se ho trovato qualche blog e forum di joshi in cui documentarmi, ti va di spiegare a grandi linee il perché di questo voto?DudeLove ha scritto: Best female: Io Shirai (Stardom)
Comunque ho appena letto cosa ha fatto AKIRA per il suo 30° anniversario sul ring e sulla carta è fantastico, uno spettacolo misto tra teatro e wrestling cheè un remake de "il Paradiso può attendere". Con momenti camp mica male, visto che AKIRA muore per sbaglio, e come risarcimento dall'aldilà mandano la sua anima nel corpo di Ricky Fuji

Guarda, confesso di non essere il più grande esperto di joshi, visto che bene o male ho iniziato a seguire un pò da un paio d'annetti, ma quello che mi ha colpito della Stardom (anche più della Shimmer negli USA) è stato il lavoro di costruzione delle rivalità e dei personaggi, vedi ad esempio il turn heel della stessa Shirai.Horace Hogan ha scritto:

A questo aspetto Io ha aggiunto un rendimento sul ring stellare nell'ultimo anno. Un paio di match, quello del 3 Novembre per il tag title e quello del 10 Luglio per il World of Stardom, a mio avviso hanno un workrate della madonna, da seri MOTYC. Poi ha veramente avuto un rendimento di una costanza encomiabile, sempre a buon livello anche con atlete ancora un pò green.
Chiaro che ha ancora avuto poca possibilità di confrontarsi con atlete di alto livello (a parte Meiko Satomura e Cheerleader Melissa), ma questo è più un limite della Stardom che altro.
Onestamente il voto è stato facilitato dal fatto che, per quello che ho visto, non ha avuto troppa concorrenza quest'anno, ma mi ha davvero molto colpito.
