Ma vedi, match anche belli ma che sembrano filler, con zero o poca costruzione, non ti rimangono impressi. Per quanto belli. Per dire, questo fra Danielson e Rush, bellissimo e tutto, ma fra una-due settimane ce ne saremo già scordati. E se succede questo, vuol dire che c'è un problema. La mia paura era che Dynamite diventasse una "vetrina di wrestling" con spazio extra ring quasi nullo. E da un po' di mesi a questa parte è diventato questo. Ma i periodi migliori, secondo me, li hanno dati quando hanno offerto il giusto mix, con segmenti ben studiati. Vi ricordate Jericho che dice "I got tickets" mentre veniva pestato? Quella verve iniziale dell'AEW ormai, temo, è scomparsa. Uno show per funzionare deve avere due cose fondamentali: storyline e qualità dei match buona. Ora, se in AEW sono carenti dal primo lato, sul secondo te ne stanno dando in abbondanza.
Poco importa se il match non è un capolavoro, magari ci sarà più avanti o magari no, ma non la vedo questa necessità imprenscindibile. Un MOTY deve essere una congiunzione perfetta tra storyline e qualità in ring e ci sta che questo non sia un evento così ricorrente.

Il problema secondo me è proprio il roster così pieno, all'inizio con un roster molto più asciutto riuscivano a dare il giusto spazio e la giusta caratterizzazione a quasi tutti, adesso c'è troppa confusione da quel punto di vista. Sui MOTYC: però vedi che sottolinei tu stesso il problema? Non è che la congiunzione perfetta tra storyline e qualità in ring è dovuta alle costellazioni, ma se la devono creare loro. In WWE lo hanno fatto, e, comunque vada, so già che Zayn-Reigns a Montreal sarà un serio MOTYC, e ho molta più fiducia in questo match rispetto all'Iron Man di Revolution.
Da quanto è che l'AEW non ne propone uno che possa competere, in quanto a qualità, con match memorabili del passato? Secondo me solo il tag match di Revolution 2020 (che lungi dall'essere semplicemente uno spotfest, fu ricchissimo di storia e sottotrame). Forse giusto Bucks-FTR, come ho già detto, anche se inferiore a quello di Revolution 2020.
Con il roster che hanno mi chiedo davvero come non riescano a sfornarne un paio all'anno. La TNA dei bei tempi era avanti in questo.
No ha detto che si assicurato subito che respirasse. Ha usato l'espressione lifeless body dopo (da qui la confusione di alcuni) per dire che era a peso morto sostanzialmente quando l'ha spostata.
Ma infatti il problema vero è che non riescono a creare la macro storia accattivante, qualcosa fuori dall'ordinario che ti faccia capire che quella è speciale. MJF essentially confessed to a felony on air. And it turns out that pro wrestling is still very real to quite a few folks out there, based on the following post today on The 434’s Facebook page:
“Police received over 300 phone calls last night. Following the MJF promo last night on AEW Dynamite, the Nassau Police Department reported that they were flooded with over 300 phone calls following the promo by MJF. The police have released a statement saying they will be investigating the claims but believe it was to do with a fictional story on a television show.”
Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez confirmed there is indeed some truth to this claim:
“I don’t know if it was actually over 300, but absolutely 100% they got a bunch of phone calls. That’s not a joke. A bunch of fans legitimately called the Nassau Police Department to report MJF.”
ESPN’s Marc Raimondi also “heard from several people who have said there is truth to the original story.”
This sounds like a terrible use of police time and resources, but I’d reckon that’s the exact response a heel like MJF was hoping to achieve.

E' wrestling, non spettacolo, almeno per come lo intende l'AEW. E visto che l'AEW prende molto spunto dalla NJPW, lo "scenario" viene creato attraverso i match, non attraverso un segmento emozionale come può essere la cacciata di Zayn dalla Bloodline.Moxicity ha scritto: ↑11/02/2023, 13:24
Ma soprattutto la convinzione che il lottato sia preponderante è il resto conti il giusto.
È il contrario, ciò che rende indimenticabile un match non è il lottto in se (che rimane importante, sia chiaro) ma la cornice, ciò che porta al match ed il carico di emozioni.
