As we talked about yesterday, mass layoffs are expected to be announced tomorrow after WWE reports their second quarter earnings. The number that is being mentioned the most is that 10 percent of the WWE's employees will lose their jobs, which is just horrible. I expect that it will be due to performance of the WWE Network. Often when a company reports lower than expected numbers they announce layoffs to try and keep Wall Street from doing a sell off of the stock.
Currently, the stock is trading at $12.05, down 42 cents.
We will have full coverage of the conference call tomorrow.

E dire che qualche mese fa avevo in mente di cercare qualche lavoro in WWE (nel settore grafico-marketing).

E pensare che all'inizio dell'anno lessi che la WWE, era quotata tantissimo in borsa, addirittura non era mai stata quotata così tanto, è tutta colpa del Network, almeno penso.

Erano nella loro migliore condizione economica da tipo sempre, purtroppo non solo il Network ha portato al crollo delle azioni nell'ultimo periodo, ma prima anche il rinnovo meno remunerativo con NBCUniversal per i diritti tv.

No è proprio il contrario.
Andò su per il Network, il botto arriva perchè si pensava ad un contratto con un canale di un certo livello che non è arrivato.

Ah, quel contratto di rinnovo, di cui si parlava, tipo quello della NASCAR.

Sì, ma a Stamford puntavano troppo in alto, mentre la realtà dei fatti è sempre stata un'altra nonostante tutte le ore di programmazione.

Insomma fino ad ora sto Network è stato un mezzo flop. Le azioni hanno perso circa il 60% del valore (ho considerato il peak di marzo e la quotazione odierna), una bella batosta.

Io sapevo che sarebbe stato così perchè la Wwe ha sopravvalutato la voglia della gente di guardarsi i programmi sul pc. Se si vuole guardare wrestling nulla dà più piacere di farlo su una tv tradizionale. Avrebbero dovuto lanciare il Network come un normale canale a pagamento.
