•Sunday Night Heat began with a picture of Rick Rude on the screen giving the dates of his birth and death. It then cut to the controversary between Steve Austin and the Rock last week on Raw is War and how Shane McMahon interfeered.
•Val Venis/Nicole Bass pinned D'Lo Brown/Ivory
-D'Lo Brown quickly took the microphone and told Val Venis that even though Sable wasn't there due to her previous Hollywood engagements, Val would need to find another partner or have a very hard handicapped match. Venis went for a few pins, but D'Lo quickly took the advantage. While he was on the top rope getting ready for a 'Lo Down, Ivory touched his body by accident which the referee called a tag. When she stepped into the ring, Nicole Bass came running down from the enterance way and with a quick choke slam recieved the pin. She then picked up the microphone and told Val Venis that he owe's her and wants his slide trombone in her brass section.
•The Ministry of Darkness, led by the Undertaker, is shown walking into the arena. After the commercial, a montage is shown of X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws joining DeGeneration X and the group thriving. It ends, however, with Triple H turning his back on X-Pac setting up the match at Backlash.
•X-Pac Interview.
-Jim Ross is shown in the backstage area interviewing X-Pac. He origionally called him Sean and asked him what he is feeling. X-Pac replied by saying that Triple H was the best partner he ever had and invited him to join DeGeneration X. He then told him that his worst enemies are the ones that used to be his friends.
•Triple H Interview.
-Triple H is shown being interviewed by Jerry Lawler in the locker room. Triple H exclaimed that he got X-Pac over and he begged him to come back. Triple H says that the leadership of the group was always his and that X-Pac tried to take it away.
•The Ministry of Darkness is shown having a conference in the backstage area while the WWF rolls footage from last week's Raw is War when Vince McMahon attacked Midian.
•Nicole Bass is shown in the backstage area searching for Val Venis while yelling that either way she will come out on top.
•Droz/Prince Albert pinned Too Much
-Prince Albert was the man who appeared last week on Sunday Night Heat to save Droz and is explained to be Droz's personal tattoo artist. Too Much took the early advantage in the match, but after a double cover they lost it. After a teriffic finisher, Prince Albert pinned Scott Taylor. After the match ended, Prince Albert took out a black case and was about to pierce Brian Christopher before the Ministry of Darkness made their way down to ringside.
•The Undertaker Interview.
-At the conclusion of the previous match, the whole Ministry of Darkness attacked Too Much in the middle of the ring but thre them ouyt very quickly. The Undertaker was quickly given the microphone as he told the crowd that there would be a horrible tragedy occuring tonight.
•Nicole Bass continued her persuit of Val Venis as she walked into a men's bathroom. A man was shown screaming in there, but he was not Val. Venis was then shown quickly leaving the arena.
•Kane pinned Big Boss Man
-As the Big Boss Man went to celebrate on the ropes, Kane quickly attacked and dominated the match. The Big Boss Man quickly got hit with a stunner from the top rope and a flying bullett as he ducked out of the tombstone attempt. As Test climbed on the apron, the Big Boss Man got reversed into him and then recieved a chokeslam for a pin.
•After the completion of the match, Shane McMahon is shown going nuts in the locker room yelling "how many mistakes can a rookie make?" obviously speeking about Test. After the commercial is over, the Big Boss Man and Test are shown in the middle of the ring arguing and pushing each other as Viscera made his way to the ring.
•Viscera pinned Test
-As both men are still arguing, the Bossman shoves Test into Viscera starting the match. As the Big Boss Man got up on the apron, Test was thrown into him and therefore pinned. It appeared that the Big Boss Man did it intentionally.
•The Big Boss Man and Test are shown continuing to argue in front of Shane McMahon in the backstage area. Shane is shown regulating and telling both men to go to their own corners.
•A montage is continued to be shown of the Rock throwing Austin's belt over the bridge and more footage from last week's Raw is War. After the montage, Shane McMahon is shown making his way to the ring for an interview.
•Shane McMahon Interview.
-As the crowd began to chant "asshole" Shane quickly told them that they shoudn't speak about Vince in that way. He then announced that the Heavyweight Championship match will be no holds barred and that he will be a fair referee. Shane then explained that if Austin lays one hand on him he will disqualify him and give the championship belt to the Rock. Shane then exclaimed to his dad that he is setting a new dynasty in the WWF and he is the head of it.
•After Shane concludes, Vince and Stephanie McMahon are shown walking out of a limosene.
