Sono d'accordissimo, anche su Hendricks. La sottovalutazione di Koscheck, è dovuta forse più al ridimensionamento/batosta avuto con St. Pierre, che altro. E se è vero che a fare facili equazioni spesso si sbaglia, mi pare comunque che per prestazione, non so se Hendricks stesso se la caverebbe più agevolmente, proprio contro il canadese (fatto salvo il recupero completo da un infortunio, che a tutti gli effetti è ancora una bella incognita).LoganLock ha scritto:

Belcher è un grande: l'infortunio lo fermò ma già all'epoca era quasi pronto per una titleshot. I medi mi fanno morire, ora come ora, sono la categoria più ricca e interessante. Silva, Sonnen, Stann, Bisping, Belcher, Lombard e tutti gli altri (compreso il ritorno di Franklyn) faranno divertire in futuro.

Se Diaz conferma quel livello nella clinch diventa quasi imbattibile, a livello di striking si sa che è superiore a quasi tutti nella divisione, stesso discorso per il bjj, ma se ora riesce anche a diventare insidioso come clinch e takedown defence diventa quasi insuperabile. La cosa impressionante del match è che contro un fighter completissimo come Miller si è dimostrato superiore in ogni campo.
Hendriks vs Kos pari a mio avviso, un po' come l'ultimo match di Josh contro Pierce. Una volta preso per buono il risultato mi sembra però difficile non dare una shot a uno che in fila ha battuto i due fighter della AKA (se Kos lo è ancora).
Delusissimo da Toquinho ma tanto merito al Talent che si posiziona giusto a ridosso del vincente tra Munoz e Weidman per una title shot, dopo gli ultimi incontri devo dire che le vittorie di puro ground and pound inziano ad essere abbastanza frequenti e la cosa non mi dispiace. Su Diaz non posso che essere d'accordo con voi, vedere chiunque battere in quella maniera (che poi il "battere" è quasi superfluo, io non penso di aver mai visto un fighter del calibro di Miller totalmente outclassed come sabato notte) uno dei lightweight più completi e costanti degli ultimi 5-6 anni è stato qualcosa di surreale. Quel che manca di credibilità alla sua shot dal punto di vista del mero score viene ampiamente ripagato dall'aspettativa che avremo per quel match titolato, a mio avviso.
Su Belcher-Palhares devo dire che anche io sono rimasto un po stupito dal brasiliano, però non è la prima volta che lascia a bocca aperta sia quando vince che quando perde, ma per motivi opposti. Penso non sarà mai un top fighter, mi da sempre l'impressione gli machi qualcosa o a livello di intelligenza (parlo "sportiva" ovviamente") o di fame di vittoria, non so, è un fighter che non ho mai inquadrato bene.
Belcher è un idolo però non scherziamo, prima di una shot un top10 deve incontrarlo per forza.

Sicuramente non schiacciante, non spettacolare o indiscutibile, però per me già un pareggio sarebbe stato penalizzante per il texano, e una sconfitta l'avrei vista un po tirata. Mi ha stupito che sia stato propro Almeida a votare per Kos, cmq speriamo in futuro continuino con questa strada di chiamare fighter a fare i giudici perche mi sembra una buona idea.
A questo punto ha vinto 10 dei suoi ultimi 11 incontri in Zuffa (2 WEC 9 UFC) e penso che anche a lui una shot sia abbastanza innegabile, anche perchè gli ultimi 2 che ha battuto sono probabilmente il top che la divisione poteva offrire. Certo, si potrebbe fare un Ellenberger v Hendricks, anche perchè altrimenti dovrebbe stare fermo per tipo 1 anno, però a mio avviso sarebbe un po uno stepback per Jonny.
Io Koscheck lo odio, lo trovo una delle persone più piccole delle mma, però non posso che ammettere che come fighter è un mostro, che ha un chin d'antologia e che una vittoria su di lui ti catapulta alla titleshot, sopratutto se in seguito a una vittoria via KO su Fitch (ricordo Hendricks unico uomo al mondo ad averli battui entrambi...ok un po teatrale come cosa ma penso renda l'idea).
Detto questo se davvero Kos si è rotto lo zigomo (orbital è zigomo?) una seconda volta sarebbe davvero pesante, e in generale la sua carriera non la vedo in un punto particolarmente felice.

Alan Belcher calls out Michael Bisping, labels the Brit a “professional point fighter”
UFC middleweight star on the rise, Alan Belcher has revealed he’d love to go head-to-head with top contender, Michael Bisping at some point in the future, labelling the Brit a “professional point fighter” and saying he would look forward to the verbal exchanges between the two men.
Speaking via BloodyElbow.com, Belcher said:
“Bisping, of course, is getting to be a professional point fighter, and he’s kind of hard to beat like that. That fight would be a nice payday, and a big fight for the media, so I’m kind of leaning towards that one. It would make sense, and the fans would love it. I can almost feel the energy I would get from the fans if I put him to sleep. I can already kind of feel the kind of smack talking that he would be doing, and I think that he just honestly believes that he’s better than he is. I don’t think he respects me or considers me to be one of the top guys. It would feel good to beat him, but I don’t want to let those type of personal emotions get in the way of what’s really important, and that’s competing for the world championship and winning.”

A significant change has been made to the UFC 149 card set to go down July 21st in Calgary, Alberta, Canada tonight after news leaked of an injury to Japanese superstar, Yoshihiro Akiyama. His replacement has already been found however and it will be Afghan knockout artist, Siyar Bahadurzada now meeting Thiago Alves.
UFC officials announced the change out of their Brazilian office earlier today. It is thought verbal agreements are in place on both sides.
Bahadurzada made his octagon debut on the UFC on FUEL TV 2 card last month, defeating another Brazilian in the form of law-enforcement officer, Paulo Thiago via TKO in less than a minute. It also marked his seventeenth stoppage (and eleventh knockout) in twenty-one career victories.

Urijah Faber will fight for an interim title at UFC 148, Renan Barao, Ivan Menjivar and Michael McDonald mentioned as possible opponents
It has just been confirmed that UFC bantamweight number one contender, Urijah Faber will compete for an interim version of the title at UFC 148 following an injury to current champion, Dominick Cruz, with a list of talented and dangerous 135 pound fighters already forming a line to face “The California Kid”.
Speaking on last night’s edition of UFC Tonight, Dana White said:
“So what’s going to happen is Urijah Faber will, he’s going to fight still. He’s going to fight on the same card. Now, I’m looking for the right opponent. The guy who deserves this shot at Urijah Faber.”
When asked whether the bout would be for an interim title, Dana simply responded:
“The answer is yes.”
Faber heard about the news while also being interviewed on the show, and he mentioned a few possible opponents, although nothing has been decided.
“That’s the first I’ve heard of that. I think that’s the best idea. Dominick’s been out since his last fight. He had his hand surgery. Now he’s out with another surgery, so a year and a half, and I think Renan Barao or Ivan Menjivar or maybe Michael McDonald, but I’m not sure.”

Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal signs with Bellator and TNA Wrestling
Just when you thought all the star names were heading out of the Bellator door they make a major signing coming in. It has been revealed today that former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has signed for the upstart promotion as well as professional wrestling outfit, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
A source close to the situation revealed the news to Sherdog.com earlier today. It is thought when he’s fit, healthy and returns from his current nine-month suspension he will perform simultaneously for both organisations.
Lawal was last seen in action in January when he defeated Lorenz Larkin inside the distance. After the fight he tested positive for banned substances, placed on suspension and fined $39,000. He was cut from the Zuffa ranks after a number of derogatory comments directed towards a commissioner following his hearing. He has also been battling a serious knee injury as well as life threatening staph infections.

Dominick Cruz explains exactly how he damaged his knee
UFC bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz has been describing the moment he badly damaged his knee in training this past week, something that will keep him out of his latest title defence later this year, adding all he could hear was a very large pop.
Speaking via MMAFighting.com, Cruz said:
“I was in training camp, I had just gotten done with TUF, (The Ultimate Fighter), and I usually get done about 11. I got to practice at 11:30 and I was sparring that day with kickboxing and takedowns and a guy got behind me in a scramble and he went for a trip, the trip, his hips went in on my knee and it just buckled my knee right then and there. I sat out the rest of the round, threw some ice on my knee, it was pretty painful. I was just kind of hoping for the best to be honest. I was hoping and praying that it was nothing crazy because it was a very, very loud pop. I kind of went into denial mode for the rest of that day saying ‘Oh, I’m fine, I’m fine.’ So I took some ibuprofen and that night I went in to get my normal workout in and I go to move around and get my shadowboxing going to warm up and me knee just pops right out. And I just knew right then and there that I needed to go get an MRI and get this checked out because me knee wasn’t stable and it kind of felt like I was walking on ice. I went in and got an MRI that day and got the bad results, the bad news.”
Cruz will now be on the sidelines until early 2013 and will be forced to watch his bitter rival, Urijah Faber compete for an interim title at UFC 148 on July 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada against perhaps Brazilian stand-out, Renan Barao.

“The Korean Zombie” pocketed both the $40,000 “Submission of the Night” award for his D’Arce choke of Dustin Poirier in the final bout of the night, as well as one half of the “Fight of the Night” award, making it $80,000 on the night.
The “Knockout of the Night” award went to birthday boy and middleweight slugger, Tom Lawlor for his first minute knockout of Canadian veteran, Jason MacDonald which was the first fight of the main televised card. He earned himself $40,000.
