WWE SMACKDOWN DRAWS SECOND-LOWEST RATINGS OF 2018


After a night in which Raw had its lowest audience total of the modern era, SmackDown followed with its second-lowest number of the year.

Tuesday night's episode drew 2.095 million viewers. That's the fourth-lowest total since the 2016 brand split, trailing only the night of the 2016 election, the July 3 show from this year (holiday weekend), and June 13, 2017, which went up against game seven of the NBA finals.

With an MLB wildcard game topping the cable TV ratings for the night and news channels doing monster ratings due to ongoing coverage of the Kavanaugh confirmation process, SmackDown finished just 10th overall in the cable TV ratings for the night in terms of total viewers. SmackDown did manage to finish second in the 18-49 demo with a 0.69 rating, less than a third of the 2.09 rating that the Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs game pulled in.

SmackDown retained a higher-than-usual 92 percent of the Raw audience from Monday, likely due to the huge rating for the NFL game that aired opposite Raw. Year-over-year, SmackDown was down 9.8 percent from 2017, which is about average over the last several months.

Sid Vicious Complains About Paige Being GM, Says She Should’ve Been Fired Over XXX Leaks

Ex-WWF and WCW star Sid Vicious is unhappy with Paige being the GM on SmackDown Live, saying he believes she should’ve been fired over the hacked XXX footage that leaked online.
Sycho Sid was recently interviewed by The Hannibal TV and when asked about Paige’s role he said, “I think it’s the stupidest thing, but again … it goes to how the business is. When the business is down like it is, they’ll ok things like that.” It’s worth mentioning here that the business is not down. WWE stocks are up and the company recently locked down a billion dollar television deal for SmackDown, where Paige is GM. “After that, I wouldn’t have her on my show,” Sid said after implying she put the videos and pictures on the internet herself. “I would’ve fired her immediately.”
For those who don’t recall, Paige’s XXX content was hacked from her phone and computer.
The 57-year-old wrestler went on to suggest Paige should’ve been held to the same standard as Charlie Rose, who was fired by PBS for making unwanted sexual advances towards multiple women. This includes lewd phone calls, walking around naked in their presence or groping female co-workers … not “hanging around in his underwear” as Vicious states.
Sid — who once stabbed Arn Anderson with scissors — finished his thoughts on the topic saying, “Let them do dark matches or something, but don’t make them the GM of your show.”

Ho sempre sostenuto (e continuo a sostenerlo) che Paige sia stata un'idiota e poco professionale dal punto di vista mediatico, non solo per i leaks ma per tutti i tweets da tredicenne infoiata che scriveva con e per ADR, ritengo ancora che se sei una persona che fà della sua immagine pubblica il suo lavoro non puoi essere così imbelle da possedere files porni sulle tue devices perchè, dato che sei un/una VIP, ci sarà chi cerca di infilarsi e fregarti roba "hot topic".
Quindi si, da un lato "se l'è cercata", quantomeno perchè è stata molto stupida e superficiale (non c'è niente di male nel filmarsi a fare sesso o roba affine, non prendermi per bigotto, ma capirai che col alvoro che fa una Paige è insensato tenere o farsi fare video/foto simili).
Detto questo, 'Sycho Syd non capisce una fava: Paige come GM si sta rivelando piuttosto efficace e anche gli "scandali" intorno al suo materiale XXX sono direi già dimenticati, per quanto la ritengo una favorita (altri non avrebbero avuto tutte le chances che ha avuto lei) devo dire che stà facendo bene e per ora il suo personaggio (sè stessa?) tiene.

L'ho detto all'epoca e lo dico ora, Paige è un assoluta vittima della situazione leak, è giusto che la WWE l'abbia fatta restare sotto contratto. Quello che ha subito è un furto di materiale personale (che non è detto avesse solo lei, anzi magari l'hanno rubato da Maddox). Roba del 2014 per giunta, prima che succedesse ogni scandalo riguardanti leak di celebrità. Ha subito un'umiliazione pubblica, ci mancava solo che la licenziassero. Non ha diffuso lei i video.

Poi sui comportamenti tenuti nel periodo in cui stava con Del Rio, se ne può discutere. Ricordiamo che è stata arrestata anche un paio di volte, ha fatto uscite che poteva benissimo risparmiarsi. E' lì è stata graziata dalla compagnia, un po' per la situazione dedicata, un po' perché c'era il film in uscita (e poi è comunque una che ha il suo seguito nella divisione femminile).

Detto ciò, come GM, al netto del booking, sta facendo discretamente bene.

Perchè non dovrebbe essere GM?

Sì ok, è stata stupida, sono d'accordo, ma la vittima rimane comunque lei. Ma parlando di Sid... addirittura licenziarla? Sid è davvero fuori, oltre ad aver paragonato il caso di Paige con uno che è completamente diverso, e, soprattutto, a non aver capito una fava del caso Paige (non è stata lei a pubblicare le foto e i video su internet). Poi credo che, anzi, mostrarla on screen e dare un'immagine di lei "ripulita" aiuti molto a far dimenticare ciò che è successo. Se l'avessero marchiata in eterno per quei video lì, per tali sarebbe stata ricordata. Ormai è acqua passata. Ed è sacrosanto che l'abbiano tenuta sul posto di lavoro, e che l'abbiano fatto anche dopo il suo infortunio (anche lì Sid non capisce una fava: "farle fare dark matches piuttosto").

Lui ha fatto solo l'esempio del bambino che cerca su internet il suo nome. Questo cosa c'entra con il fatto che Paige sia stata hackerata? Che quel demente del nasone dica che Chyna non può essere riconosciuta dalla compagnia e inserita nella HOF ma Paige può stare on screen ogni settimana è incoerente.
Poi ce la si prende col moralismo degli over-50 quando la median age del fan di wrestling è proprio 50+. Sid sta esprimendo proprio questa mentalità ed è un pensiero legittimo e da non sottovalutare.
