Re: MMA - Mixed Martial Arts

Here come trash talks!!!
UFC on FOX 2 – Chael Sonnen likes Michael Bisping because he “cock and arrogant”
Sonnen said:
UFC on FOX 2 – Chael Sonnen likes Michael Bisping because he “cock and arrogant”
Sonnen said:
Bisping said:“I’m not on the anti-Bisping bandwagon. I never have been. I think he’s good. I hear a lot of negative things said about him, but I think most of it comes from frustration of maybe his personality or something like that. I think if you’re real objective and you look at his skill set and his in-ring ability, you’ll know that he’s a talented guy. He’s definitely cocky and arrogant, which is two qualities that I like in a person. I like a cocky guy and I like an arrogant guy, so he earns points with me in those regards, but I think it turns a lot of people off … I’ve never even seen Bisping in trouble. I’ve never seen him come out of there cut and scraped and bruised. He seems to go in, take care of business and go home.”
“I’m going to get the best Chael Sonnen possible I know that. But his jiu-jitsu won’t be too slick. Chael Sonnen can take me down if he likes, because I know I can submit him off my back. I know I can. That’s his big weakness.”
“I may not have a black belt, but I consider myself a black belt. I’ve been rolling with Jake Shields, Dean Lister and a wash of other world champions. Believe me, if Chael Sonnen takes me down he better be prepared to get submitted. Working with these guys recently, these top level jiu-jitsu guys, has really brought on my game and I am so comfortable on my back right now. In the past I have stood fights up a lot but the way I am training right now, I will be delighted if Chael takes me down. If he does, then it will be a short night for him.”
“Without a shadow of a doubt this is the biggest fight of my career. It’s going to be the most watched fight of all time, with it going live on Fox TV, and I am fighting the number one contender. This is my title fight. I beat this guy and I am fighting for the title. I’m going to Brazil and it’s me that will be getting the big pay day. There is no doubt that I will beat this guy too. I am the better fighter. No doubt, he is a tough motherf**ker, but it’s my big opportunity and I will be ready.”

Bellator may be interested in putting together Hector Lombard vs. Anthony “Rumble” Johnson
Bellator Fighting Championships may be about to throw former UFC middleweight, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson a career lifeline after he was cut from the Las Vegas based promotions ranks after once again missing weight, by matching him up with their 185 pound champion, Hector Lombard.
Speaking via CageJunkies.com, Lombard said:
Bellator CEO, Bjorn Rebney, said a match between Lombard and Johnson may be a reality in the future.
Lombard has struggled to find decent competition outside the ranks of Zuffa to face over the past couple of years but in Johnson, a fighter with a high profile, a decent record and coming off a high profile fight, Bellator may have found their man.

As long as they have a big name and are recognized by the media and fans as being high-calibre, I’m ready to fight anyone…He was considered one of the top prospects for the 185-division. He’s right up there, so why not? My game is complete. I have really good stand-up, I’m really good on the floor and I’m a really good wrestler…I feel that I’m the best.”

“I believe Hector is the most explosive, dominant middleweight in MMA today. There are a number of great fights out there right now for Hector and under the right circumstances, at the right time, Anthony could be one of them.”

Lorenz Larkin says steroids or not he still lost to Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal
Strikeforce light heavyweight prospect, Lorenz Larkin has been giving his thoughts on the recent news that his last opponent and only man to beat him in his mixed martial arts career to date, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, has tested positive for steroids around the time the two of them hooked it up inside the cage.
Speaking in a recently released statement, Larkin said:
It’s obvious there’s a lot of respect between the two men judging by this statement with Larkin admitting substances or not he lost the fight to Lawal inside the cage. The big question is what will happen with the fighters b-test and can this latest failure in the sport of MMA be explained?

Speaking in a recently released statement, Larkin said:
“It is disappointing to hear of this news since this is now the second opponent in a row that has tested positive after fighting me. I respect Mo and wish him the best. If he says that he didn’t take anything then I will take his word for it and it’s up to him and his team to prove otherwise. At this point, it’s up to the Nevada State Athletic Commission how they will deal with this situation. Regardless of steroid use or not, I don’t look at this as a win on my record, because it’s not. I have watched tape and I am back in the gym improving how I lost that fight. I will be ready for whatever Strikeforce wants to do regarding who I am fighting next and the light heavyweight division.”

Sergei Kharitonov happy to sign with the UFC… if the money is right
Strikeforce heavyweight contender, Sergei Kharitonov has revealed he’d be happy to sign with the UFC as many of his peers seem to be doing over the past few months but only if the deal was right for him, adding he’s already been offered a new contract by ailing kickboxing promotion, K-1.
Speaking via Fighters Only Magazine, Kharitonov said:
Kharitonov was eliminated from the Strikeforce heavyweight grand-prix tournament at the semi-finals stage by former UFC heavyweight champion, Josh Barnett. The big question for the Russian is whether he sees his immediate future in the mixed martial arts of kickboxing worlds… Tell us what you think…

“I don’t know what the situation is right now. Strikeforce heavyweight [division] is finished very soon I think. Maybe one more fight for me, I don’t know. If the UFC contract is for the right money then yes of course its good, its no problem. But the problem with UFC [contract], its exclusive. So no DREAM, no K-1, it means not so many fights and not so much money. For K-1, I am very hopeful, actually I was offered a new contract for K-1. There is some news coming soon,”

Re: MMA - Mixed Martial Arts

Strikeforce vet Ray Sefo announces kickboxing match with Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic
Two-time Strikeforce vet and former kickboxing world champion Ray Sefo will face Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic in a striking-rules contest.
The bout, which had been rumored for several weeks, is now official according to Sefo, who announced the fight via Twitter.
"Some news for you all," Sefo wrote. "My fight with Mirko 'Cro Cop' has been confirmed for March 10."
An official announcement of the bout – which takes place at Zagreb Arena in Zagreb, Croatia – is expected to come in the next several days. The card is being organized by a local TV station and has been dubbed "Final Fight," in honor of what is expected to serve as Filipovic's official retirement from combat sports.
Filipovic, of course, is a PRIDE and UFC veteran who was once considered among the best heavyweights in the sport. A powerful striker who earned his nickname due to his time as a member of Croatia's anti-terrorist police force, Filipovic was the champion of PRIDE's 2006 open weight grand prix.
Filipovic fought 10 times for the UFC but was never able to replicate the success of his PRIDE run and in 2011 walked away from the promotion after suffering three-straight defeats.
Sefo, who began fighting professionally in 1989, is best known for his kickboxing exploits but fighting out of Xtreme Couture, he also competed two times under the Strikeforce banner – a 2009 win over Kevin Jordan and a 2011 loss to Valentijn Overeem.
Both Filipovic and Sefo were competing under the K-1 banner for the better part of a decade in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but despite a few rumored meetings, the two never fought.

Direi che dopo la chiusura forzosa di Megavideo e la spontanea di Filesonic, fare pubblicità a siti di sharing video non è proprio il massimo...

UFC on FOX 2 – “Chael Sonnen’s a harder fight for Michael Bisping than Anderson Silva” – Brad Pickett
Vabbè...
“Bisping has been around a long time. It’d be good for England [if he won]. Styles makes fights, that’s why I don’t think he’ll get a title shot because he’s facing Chael Sonnen. I think he had more chance of beating Anderson Silva than he does beating Sonnen. If he had a different route to Silva, I think there’s a good chance he would be the first British UFC champion.”
“I like both guys, I’m not that patriotic that, I think ‘I’m British, I’ve got to support every British fighter’. I like Bisping a lot, I think he’s a really good guy, but I also like Chael Sonnen. I think styles make fights, and if Bisping wants a title shot, I’m not sure Chael Sonnen is the way to go. It’s not Bisping’s choice [who he fights], but I think Chael Sonnen is a really bad match-up for Bisping.
“A fight’s a fight, anything can happen, Bisping’s a very skilled fighter. He pulls things out of the bag. Being honest, there’s been a couple of times that I’ve thought Bisping would have a hard time and he’s made it look easy. That’s credit to his character. But he’s putting me in that boat again – Chael Sonnen is an incredible athlete. He’s very hard to beat with his style and he’s focused to get back to a rematch with Anderson Silva. I can’t see Bisping winning it, but the best man will win and it could be him.”

On the news that he’s been approached to fight Fedor, Lashley added:
“The guy’s got a tremendous amount of fights under his belt… I’d like to fight him. I’m going to throw everything at him that I can. Of course, my wrestling’s there, I don’t give a damn what he’s doing. I’d put my wrestling up there with almost anyone right now.”
“I think that my wrestling would trump some of the things that he has. I know he’s a great fighter, but if I fought him then of course I’m going to try and wrestle him down… If it was Dave [Bautista], I’m standing and banging with him. I’ve been doing a lot of boxing.”

Gegard Mousasi vs. Mike Kyle verbally agreed for March 3rd in Columbus, Ohio
A light heavyweight clash between former Strikeforce champion, Gegard Mousasi and veteran of the sport, Mike Kyle has been verbally agreed for the March 3rd card set for Columbus, Ohio.
The fight has not been signed as yet but Kyle announced the fight via his Twitter account on Monday.
Mousasi returns to the cage just weeks after defeating Ovince St. Preux via unanimous decision, making him the front runner for the vacant light heavyweight title. He was expected to face Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal next but a failed drugs test has put paid to that.
Kyle earned a win over Marcos Rogerio de Lima via decision last September to stake his claim for the title. Prior to that he’d stepped up to heavyweight to face Antonio “Big Foot” Silva but was pounded out in the second round.

UFC on FOX 2 – Chris Weidman reveals he’ll be looking to submit Demian Maia
UFC middleweight prospect, Chris Weidman isn’t letting the Jiu-Jitsu skills of Demian Maia faze him heading into this weekends UFC on FOX 2 clash with the Brazilian stand-out, explaining he’ll be looking to pass the guard and submit his opponent like he always does.
Speaking via USA Today, Weidman said:
Weidman has looked ultra-impressive during his time in the octagon thus far. He began his career with the UFC with just a 4-0 record but defeated veteran, Alessio Sakara in his debut. He was last seen at UFC 139 where he choked out Tom Lawlor to improve to 7-0.

I wasn’t going to let someone else jump in there and take that opportunity, so it’s good stuff.”
