Re: MMA - Mixed Martial Arts

Re: MMA - Mixed Martial Arts
mmm asfaltare. Mah.

Kurt Angle reveals Dana White offered him a contract to fight for the UFC just months ago
It has today been revealed that former WWE heavyweight champion, Kurt Angle was offered a contract to turn his back on professional wrestling and pursue a career in the mixed martial arts world by none other than UFC President, Dana White, but revealed the terms were not lucrative for him to make this major change in direction.
Angle has flirted with the idea of a career inside the octagon for years, revealing as well that he had a similar decision to make years ago when he was presented with both an opportunity to fight for the UFC or take the professional wrestling route with the WWE. The rest, as they say, is history.
BAH!!!

“I actually contacted Dana White again after the movie (Warrior). I flew out to meet him once and got a great offer. I contacted him again, I was thinking about dropping out of [TNA] Impact Wrestling, and there were some personal problems with my marriage and I just wanted to get away. I contacted Dana White, I flew out, and he had me take the UFC physical. I passed it, thank God, and he gave me the offer.”
“The terms weren’t good, I mean not for me, and the terms I gave him weren’t good for him. He wanted me ready in four-and-a-half weeks; I wanted three to six months. So I respect Dana White and I love him to death, very good friend. I knew I was capable of winning in four-and-a-half weeks, but I wanted to be at my best.”

Re: MMA - Mixed Martial Arts

Dana ha detto che è una bufala...però è vero che nel 2006 (prima quindi di quando dice Angle) White gli presentò un'offerta per andare in UFC.LoganLock ha scritto: Angle has flirted with the idea of a career inside the octagon for years, revealing as well that he had a similar decision to make years ago when he was presented with both an opportunity to fight for the UFC or take the professional wrestling route with the WWE. Brock Lesnar’s MMA career in doubt after more than one doctor advises him against a return to the octagon
It has today come to light that former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar could be about to forgo a return to the octagon despite recent reports after he was warned by more than one doctor that the stress of training and competing puts way too much toil on his body.
This from Bleacher Report:
Lesnar had been rumoured to be returning to action early next year although many have speculated that the Las Vegas based promotion may ask the behemoth to speed up his recovery and headline their first event on the FOX Network. With this latest new however it could be the end of the road for the former champion, although I’d never rule anything out…

This from Bleacher Report:
However, multiple sources close to his camp tell a different story about the former champion’s condition. According to the sources, more than one doctor has informed Lesnar that he should no longer compete in the sport due to the stress that training and fighting puts on his body.
Even with a planned return to the cage in early 2012, according to one of the sources, Lesnar might even be warming to the idea of retirement. Certainly, Lesnar must be weighing the toll that a continued career would have on his long-term health. For Lesnar, the question could be, “Is it worth it?”

UFC President, Dana White to make a major announcement tomorrow at 1.00pm ET
It has today been revealed that UFC President, Dana White will be making a major announcement tomorrow at 1.00pm ET (10.00am PT, 6.00pm UK) regarding something concerning the promotion, although everyone who is in the know is keeping tight lipped about what it could be.
One though is it could be an announcement over the main event of the UFC on FOX event set for November 12th in Anaheim, California, another is that it could be the retirement of former heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar after he was advised by his doctors to hang up his gloves for good.
What else could it be? Let the speculation begin…
Update: Dana White just confirmed the announcement will be about the event on FOX when he posted the following via his Twitter page:
The “BIG Announcement” 2 morrow at 10 am will be the FOX fight. The UFC and FOX are so pumped for @UFCONFOXSports!!!!!!!!
I guess we’ll soon find out who will be in the main event…
Voi cosa vi aspettate?

Pedro Rizzo says he’s in the best shape of his career, wants to return to the UFC’s ranks
Former UFC heavyweight contender, Pedro Rizzo has revealed he’s in the best shape of his career after training with a bunch of top Brazilian’s lately as he looks to move up the divisions ranks once again, something he hopes will result in a return to the octagon down the road.
One suggestion is that with the UFC set to return to Brazil in 2012 they may look to recall a number of Brazilian veterans for the card, with the successful ones being absorbed into the already stacked roster of world class fighters.

“I still want to fight, I’m ready, I’m still in my prime. I started training with everyone, with Rodrigo, Dos Santos, Bigfoot, Anderson Silva … we are all training together so I feel we have the best MMA team in the world. I train with these guys every day and I’m in my prime. I lost around 20-pounds and I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m training hard, I really want to fight. My goal? I want to go back to the UFC, I hope I can retire my career there. Jorge, my manager, he is talking with the UFC and trying to put me back there. I have no injuries, psychologically I’m good. I’m 37 so I think I can fight for two or three more years.”

Re: MMA - Mixed Martial Arts
