Mickie James recently on a podcast on her pitch for an all Womens show in WWE getting turned down:
"There was this moment where I said, ‘What if we do an all-female brand?’ If I could help lead up that and have an awesome team of women….we have the talent, tools, and facilities. It would really help all the girls who are not getting television time. This one person says to me, ‘They’re never going to do it. Ever. Women’s wrestling doesn’t make money. WWE Evolution was the lowest-rated PPV ever in WWE. I get what you’re trying to do, but I don’t understand why you’re fighting so hard for it. You should play the cards you’re dealt and see if there’s a way to incorporate that within a show rather than fight for it to be its own show.’"
Becky Lynch ha dimostrato il contrario. Banks e Bayley hanno fatto il rating più alto della pandemia (Roman ci è arrivato a superarlo solo con la partita NFL di traino che ha dopato l'ascolto di quella puntata).
Poi sullo show solo femminile, io non credo sia necessario e sicuramente non c'è bisogno del novatesimo show ad aggiungere ulteriore ore di programmazione, ma dall'altro canto potrebbe essere utile per tenere impegnate certe ragazze che altrimenti non fanno nulla e anche in termini di personaggio e storie per sviluppare qualcosa. Ma cioè stiamo parlando della WWE, se volesse potrebbe benissimo farlo negli show principali e non lo fa.
Che poi andiamo a vedere 205 live e NXT Uk, per non parlare di Main Event, non mi sembra che la mancanza di seguito per questi show sia un problema per loro.
Poi va bè, il discorso che ha fatto Lance Storm su Twitter è sacrosanto per quanto è ovvio. Se non costruisci qualcuno e non lo vendi come importante è inutile aspettarsi che poi metti due persone a caso nel main event e quelli vendono (indifferentemente dal genere).
