Dave Meltzer notes that the 39-year-old Harper hasn't been given his release as of this moment, he's only asked for it. Harper didn't state what WWE's response to his request was in his statement.

After undergoing wrist surgery while Erik Rowan was also out of action, Harper returned to the ring at a house show in March. He was an entrant in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35 and defeated Dominik Dijakovic at WrestleMania Axxess, with their match airing as part of the NXT Alumni vs. NXT Worlds Collide special on the WWE Network.

Harper wasn't used on television on Raw or SmackDown since returning from injury. Rowan returned at the Royal Rumble in January and aligned with Daniel Bryan in storyline.

On February 19, Tye Dillinger publicly stated that he had requested his release from WWE. WWE then announced Dillinger's release on February 22.

Luke Harper requested his WWE release yesterday and he made it quite public. A lot of people have reacted to this announcement and expressed that he will be missed. However, Harper was wrapping up his final months with the company anyway.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Harper’s contract was up in November. It is also important to remember that just because Harper requested his release doesn’t mean that WWE will let him go and this also doesn’t mean that they would have let him out of his contract in November regardless.

“In theory they could hold him until November, in theory they could also take the last six months and hold him six months because of the injury. I don’t think that they’d do that because it would be really bad PR, but you know the balls in their court.”

They could take their time in doing so because Harper is still under contract and due to his recent injury WWE could extend his contract as well.

Harper pare sia stato visto durante le registrazioni di Raw e SD di qualche settimana fa.
Pare comunque impossibile rivederlo on-screen, secondo fonti vicine all'ambiente sembra che Vince lo odi profondamente.
