Puntata che gira intorno ai titoli di coppia, con quanto successo nel finale che riesce nell'obiettivo di togliere dalle scene per un po' l'ormai rottissimo Sabu, e nel contempo creare nuove tensioni tra i Dudleyz e gli Impact Players, il tutto facendo uscire benissimo RVD. Il resto non è niente di che, ma quei quindici minuti valgono la visione...
Pronti, via e si parte con l'ennesima finta controversia in cui la ECW si vendeva come "troppo estrema per la TV", con tanto di commissione atletica di NY che ha sequestrato i filmati del main event di stasera, e stava valutando se sospendere o meno la licenza di Sabu. Che all'epoca probabilmente era una figata, ma come concetto è invecchiato malissimo.
Balls & Axl vs Little Guido & Sal E.Graziano è parecchio brutto da vedere, a causa del fatto che Graziano è una pippa clamorosa e Guido ci mette del suo perdendo una marea di tempo... questa versione del tag team dell'FBI è forse l'unica che non funziona per niente. Alla fine comunque Balls & Axl schiantano di sediate Graziano e ottengono il pin.
Poi rivediamo Taz vs Candido, e ci viene detto che Candido ora va in giro con un collare ortopedico, e non si sa se potrà combattere ancora, e subito dopo TAKA vs Papi Chulo, sempre da Cyberslam.
Dopo vediamo un recappone di quanto successo in uno show non trasmesso (si giustifica giusto negli episodi post-PPV ma è televisivamente terribile), con Styles che ci spiega come si è arrivati ad un RVD vs D-Von Dudley per i titoli di coppia, che è il main event che "fortunatamente" riusciremo alla fine a vedere.
Nell'attesa, perso in una marea di pubblicità, vediamo il ricordo di Rick Rude, che era morto tre giorni prima per overdose di medicinali, a soli 40 anni. Un grandissimo wrestler, che avrebbe meritato molto di più se non ci fossero stati Hogan e Warrior di mezzo e se la sua carriera non fosse terminata prematuramente a soli 35 anni per un infortunio nel 1994...
Il match è più che altro un grande angle molto ben riuscito, con RVD che lotta contro un leone nonostante sia circondato da nemici, e avrebbe vinto qualcosa come tre volte se Bubba Ray non avesse steso tre diverse arbitri per impedirlo, ma alla fine deve arrendersi all'intervento di Lance Storm e a una Super-3D e cedere i titoli di coppia. E a fine match nemmeno l'intervento che costerà il ritiro della licenza da wrestler a Sabu salva RVD da un pestaggio, e alla fine gli Impact Players vorrebbero che i Dudleyz gli cedessero le cinture come pattuito prima del match... ma i Dudleyz si rifiutano!

ECW Hardcore TV 30/4/1999
Puntata non particolarmente rilevante come storie, perchè manca ancora parecchio al PPV, ma piacevole per il lato in ring.
Si parte con Jerry Lynn vs Taka Michinoku, un match abbastanza buono di cui non vediamo l'inizio, ma che continua la costruzione di Lynn come nemesi di RVD. Anche Taka si comporta molto bene, ma è il New F'n Show ad ottenere la vittoria con il suo Cradle Piledriver.
Dopo la sigla vediamo un buon angle, con Candido che finge di essere infortunato più del dovuto e sfrutta la distrazione di quella faccia di bronzo di Corino per attaccare Taz... l'unico problema è che Candido come sfidante è uscito un po' dal nulla a Cyberslam, sono mesi che c'è e non c'è, e non è un gran modo per creare hype... ed è un peccato, perchè adoro Candido, e con un po' di costruzione questo feud poteva avere molto più interesse.
Guido vs Nova si lascia guardare nella sua brevità, con Nova che riesce ad aver ragione di Guido nonostante le interferenze di Sal E Graziano, vincendo con la sua Kryptonite Krunch.
Dreamer vs Storm è un match discreto, buono l'uso limitato di armi, meno qualche sequenza di overbooking un po' forzata. Alla fine Dreamer si prende la rivincita con una DVD su un tavolo all'angolo, ma alla fine lui, Douglas e Francine vengono malmenati dagli Impact Players...
Il segmento finale con i Dudleyz che litigano è ben fatto... Fat Chicks need loving too è una grande catchphrase e considerando che siamo in un periodo con il roster piuttosto ristretto Bubba Ray come sfidante di transizione di RVD ci stava tranquillamente.
