Beh non si può dire che Rhodes non avesse voglia di combattere per lo meno, tra un pò spunta pure in UFC 200

The Wrestling Observer reports that Cody Rhodes is expected to debut with TNA as soon as they put an offer on the table, and that he also plans to wrestle for Ring of Honor starting in December as he doesn’t plan to sign a contract with either promotion (or any other promotion, for that matter).
In TNA, Cody is expected to work with his wife, Brandi Rhodes (Eden), against Mike Bennett & Maria Kanellis. In ROH, he is expected to work with Adam Cole. It remains to be seen how Cody does being in TV programs for two different promotions at the same time.
Cody will also be working at least one New Japan Pro Wrestling show, with Katsuyori Shibata.
Cody has also been offered indie gigs working with Damien Sandow/Aron Rex due to their shared WWE history, but he wants to work with new talent.
Going back to Cody not signing a contract with any promotion, this is because his main goal now is to become a TV actor following a recent appearance on Arrow that he taped.
With that said, he will still try to face some of the talent he put on “The List” he published a few months ago.
Regarding whether he can use the Rhodes last name or not, he is engaged in talks with WWE on the issue. WWE claims ownership over the Rhodes name, including Dusty Rhodes, which conflicts with a book Cody wants to write about his father. Since Cody has only worked for WWE before, he never used the Rhodes name as a wrestler prior to that. He has worked indie shows with the Rhodes name, but recent reports have him working as “Cody R.

Nonostante l'annuncio del suo debutto a Bound For Glory per la TNA, Cody Rhodes prenderà parte anche agli show ROH a partire da Final Battle in programma il 2 dicembre e lotterà regolarmente in ROH per i primi mesi del 2017. Come riportato, non potrà usare il nome Cody Rhodes, motivo per il quale ad Impact lo hanno chiamato semplicemente Cody. Discorso diverso per sua moglie, la quale verrà chiamata Brandi Rhodes.
Sebbene Mike Bennett sarà impegnato contro Moose a Bound For Glory, il piano è quello di una faida tra Cody e Brandi Rhodes vs. Mike Bennett e Maria, rivalità che verosimilmente inizierà dopo il PPV anzidetto.
TNA e ROH potrebbero non essere le uniche due promotion con le quali sarà impegnato prossimamente Cody, il quale avrebbe tra i suoi obbiettivi quello di prendere parte allo show del Tokyo Dome della NJPW in programma il 4 gennaio.
