I risultati dello show WRESTLE-1 al Korakuen Hall di Tokyo, teatro di un clamoroso evento.
Al termine del penultimo match, il presidente della AJPW Jun Akiyama ha fatto la sua inaspettata apparizione, rivelandosi così l'ospite speciale, preannunciato da Keiji Mutoh, per l'evento allo Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium di agosto. Dopo 3 anni dall'esodo di massa che ha portato alla creazione della WRESTLE-1, Mutoh ritorna ad avere contatti con la federazione che ha guidato dal 2002 al 2011. L'incontro è stato comunque tutt'altro che amichevole, Akiyama infatti si è rifiutato di stringere la mano sul ring al padrone di casa.

Era solo una questione di tempo.

Tutte e 2 hanno bisogno di soldi e di tornare in palazzetti più grandi e al momento l'unica promotion che può andarci da sola è la NJPW. Sono curioso riguardo i dettagli e le modalità del riavvicinamento. E voglio capire se porterà a qualche movimento, oltre alla solita "guerra" tra promotion.

C'è stato lo show NOAH con la finale di GTL. Kanemaru ha difeso, ma l'unico vero motivo d'interesse era la finale del torneo.

La cafonaggine fatta theme. Perfetta per quando entra con gli occhiali da sole.

Intanto in giro per il Giappone sono successe cose. In BJW Ito ha difeso contro Masaya Takahashi, mentre Okabayashi su Ishikawa. Credo che andranno avanti di +1 fino allo show al Ryogoku. Poi c'è stato uno special tag match: Sekimoto e Raideen (Raideen in BJW ) contro Daichi e Akiyama, con vittoria dei 2 ex campioni Z1. Alla fine del match Daichi ha sfidato Akiyama, tanto per continuare a spingere il lavoro congiunto. Ottimo, ottimo.

In DDT Takeshita ha schienato Sasaki e sarà la prossima difesa dopo Sakaguchi, credo. In K-Dojo Ayato Yoshida ha vinto il torneo dei rookies e Tank Nagai ha difeso contro Kotaro Yoshino. Match molto breve, appena 11 minuti. Tomato e Inematsu si affronteranno per decretare il prossimo sfidante.

The losers of the respective selection matches became the delegate for their cage match participant. Their hair or mask will also be at risk in the match. In the event of a time limit draw or other such indecisive finish, both fighters will become delegates. Inside the cage, a competitor will first have to score a pinfall or submission before they are allowed to escape the cage. The pinfall will free their delegate from their risk. They can then escape the cage and their own risk by retrieving one of the five flags that will be placed at the top of the cage. In an instance where there are two delegates, their representative will have to gain two falls before they can escape.

Each participant and delegate had a chance to speak before intermission. Mochizuki once again underwent experimental body modification to turn him into Karate Robot Masa. Kong made some improvements and created the upgraded Super Karate Robot Masa RX version. The RX model responds to voice commands and extra rocket punch functionality.
YAMATO asked Nagoya how they were feeling. He was feeling pretty bad, due to getting stuck with Ichikawa as his delegate. That wouldn’t stop him from sending Takagi to hell, though.
Kotoka said Vehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as usual.
Tanizaki asked Saito for his assistance. Once himself, YAMATO, & Doi were out of the cage he didn’t care what happened. Saito started a Mr. Quu Quu chant, which Tanizaki said was fine for just tonight.
Due to the draw between Osaka 06, Doi had to get two pins before he could escape. He wondered which one he would release with the first fall. CIMA said that was a good question. But it didn’t matter. Osaka06 would fight until they were both free.
Takagi said it was time to find out who the real Verserk was. The talking was done. As for Punch. Who gives a rats ass if he loses his hair? He better help Takagi get out.

YAMATO had a chance to escape in the middle stages but returned to assist Doi. Later, Tanizaki betrayed him as he was close to escape. Referee Yagi was taken out in the late stages, which lead to Takagi and the rest of Verserk unlocking the cage door. They focused on YAMATO until Doi made the save. This was short-lived as he also betrayed YAMATO. He escaped, leaving it down to YAMATO & Kotoka. Verserk prevented YAMATO from escaping at all times until Kzy came to his aid. He blocked a potential Kotoka escape. Maria followed suit. Takagi got back into the cage to attack YAMATO more. Finally, BxB Hulk made his return to the ring to run off Takagi and lead YAMATO to his escape.

YAMATO shook hands and hugged the three who saved him. Verserk acted as he expected them to act. But his closest friend. Doi. Naruki Doi. He would pay for what he did. But not now. Now it was time for Kotoka to get his haircut. Kotoka tried to escape, but MONSTER EXPRESS & the Jimmyz appeared on the ramp to block him. His escape in the other direction was met with a rocket punch from Karate Robot Masa RX. Kotoka received his haircut, despite great reluctance from Takagi & co.

Takagi was furious. Kzy? Maria? That piece of shit BxB fucking Hulk? That is who YAMATO was going to associate with? Doesn’t he feel degraded? He better have more help than that in Korakuen next week. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. A one-way path to hell. Doi confirmed that YAMATO was kicked out of Verserk. It was his fault they lost the Twin Gate, and they had no more use for him. DoiYAMA was done. Verserk left.

YAMATO promised to take out Takagi and get revenge on Doi. This error in judgement will cost Verserk everything. He addressed the fans as the final survivor of the cage match. He thanked Hulk, Kzy, & Maria for helping him. Hulk was happy to see YAMATO keep his hair. He’s been out for awhile, but he has been watching YAMATO closely the whole time. He hasn’t been the same recently. More to the point, he feels like they have something in common. You see, Hulk hates that Shingo Takagi guy. Like, really really hates him. He has been on the shelf for six months. His rehab is done. He has gotten into shape. He is ready to come back. If YAMATO was out of Verserk then they should all fight together. To take out Takagi, to end Verserk.
YAMATO was in tears. He apologized for how he has acted over the last three years. That whole Almighty thing? All seeing and all knowing? He didn’t see or know anything. He wasn’t almighty. Kzy corrected him. They have been together since the trainee days. He knows YAMATO better than anyone. He is indeed The Almighty. YAMATO promised to devote the rest of his career to DRAGON GATE. To raise the profile of the company, help the trainees, and make it fun for everyone. He had one last thing to say. Once again, wasn’t he…and Hulk….and Kzy….and even Maria….just the coolest?

Oltre che un matchone della madonna assicurato. Akiyama dà ancora la merda a gente con 15/20 anni in meno di lui, e il matchone con Suwama di gennaio è lì a ricordarlo.

Altro giro di aggiornamenti. In Z1 Otani ha difeso il titolo jr con Takaiwa (e ha fatto sapere che quest'anno tornerà il Tenkaichi), Masakado ha mantenuto il titolo NWA UN contro Shogun Okamoto e da ora dovrebbero lottare insieme come tag team. Raideen e Tanaka sono invece diventati campioni di coppia e il neozelandese, dopo aver schienato Sato, si è proposto anche come sfidante per il titolo massimo.
In W-1 KAI ha detto di voler difendere il titolo ovunque tra BJW, Ganbare Pro, GUTS World ( ) e addirittura Ice Ribbon. Poi è stato invitato da Ken Ohka a lottare in Ganbare Pro, sulla base del fatto che ora hanno lo stesso attire. Niente, questo nuovo KAI potrebbe essere l'unico vero motivo per guardare la W-1. Per il resto Soya, quello che resta del povero KAZMA e Shotaro Ashino si affronteranno per decidere il prossimo sfidante al titolo.

Comunque inizio a pensare (e da quello che leggo in giro non sono il solo) che dietro la riappacificazione tra AJPW e W-1 ci sia una sorta tentativo di riavvicinare le varie promotion più "ortodosse". Alla fine AJPW e BJW hanno una sorta di partnership (tanto da organizzare show congiunti e creare eventi gemelli per i rookies), e la BJW già collaborava da un po' con W-1 e Zero1. Immagino che nei maxi show nei grandi palazzetti dovremo aspettarci tante ospitate tra queste promotion ed è una cosa molto positiva per il movimento.

Comunque che le varie fed devono pure campare. E considerato che la New Japan ha fatto terra bruciata, mi sembra che le varie collaborazioni siano oro colato.

Vista la prima serata del Champion Carnival.

Aoki vs Jake Lee: Match breve e carico di errori e imprecisioni, stranamente tutto a carico di un tecnico come Aoki. Nel post match arriva la sfida di Kaji Tomato per la cinta jr.

Nomura vs Bodyguard: Se in un match tra un 22enne ed un 47enne è il ragazzo a indicare tempi e direzione dell'incontro, da una parte è evidente che il veterano non sia una cima (e su Bodyguard grossi dubbi non ce ne sono), dall'altra vuol dire anche che il ragazzino ci sa già fare. Soprendente inizio di torneo per il pupillo di Suwama, che supera a sorpresa (pur con un roll-up), la metà dei campioni di coppia.

Ryouji Sai vs Zeus: il nuovo attire di Sai tradisce un abuso di acidi di pessima qualità, comunque. E anche la nuova attitudine non è da meno. Match un po' lento verso la metà, anche per la durata abbastanza considerevole vista l'altezza nella card, ma comunque discreto. Anche l'altra metà dei campioni di coppia esce sconfitta da questo primo giorno di Carnival.

Super Tiger vs Jun Akiyama: Match breve ma ben raccontato: pochi fronzoli, buona intensità e il clash di stili ha reso il tutto più affascinante. Buona prova da parte di uno Strong Styler puro come l'ace della RJPW in un contesto così diverso da quello cui è abituato. Vittoria di prestigio assoluto per il tigrotto.

Kengo Mashimo vs Kento MIyahara: Che match. E' così che va impostato un match di mezz'ora, soprattutto un draw: mettendo ogni (ovvia e dovuta) fase lenta a servizio completo della narrazione e alternando le fasi di indebolimento a fiammate improvvise. La calda partecipazione del pubblico ha dimostrato che tutto ha funzionato a dovere. Come al solito Mashimo ha dimostrato che worker meraviglioso sia, mostrando una capacità di variare impressionante in fase di lavoro agli arti del campione. Fantastico quando in un paio di occasioni ha incatenato 4 o 5 chiavi articolari in modo consecutivo. Quando ho visto i Magatsuki (anche se l'idea di vedere Tank Nagai in AJPW mi intriga tantissimo) ho temuto il peggio, invece c'è una sola intromissione, che tra l'altro porta all'allontanamento dei 2 esterni. Alla fine Mashimo ottiene la promessa di un futuro match titolato e io già sbavo all'idea. Ad oggi direi che è un serio candidato al ruolo di mio MOTY della AJPW.
