Eccoci arrivati. Show inferiore rispetto agli ultimi PPV, ma considerando i risvolti storici anche sticazzi ovviamente. Un mesetto fa ho visto anche il Nitro successivo, quello mi pare alla Disney e all'aperto (trovò davvero belli e caratteristici gli show di questo tipo, all'aperto oppure nei grandi mall), ma sono curioso di vedere come si rimboccherà le mani la WWF.

allora, diciamolo pure, probabilmente BATB '96 è uno dei top 3 momenti più importanti dell'intera storia del wrestling, secondo alcuni il #1 in assoluto...

Volevo iniziare a seguire il progetto già da quando è nato Nitro, ma per vari motivi poi ho giusto visto qualche puntata delle tre federazioni e stop.
Dato il periodo direi che se non inizio ora non lo farò mai più.
Volevo sapere, anche considerando che molta roba WWF/ECW è stata cancellata, negli ultimi tempi c'è stato qualcosa, che sia match o angle, di qualunque federazione che riterreste assolutamente da vedere?
Giusto per non partire completamente da 0.

Si, fecero un mese o giù di lì mi pare ai Disney/MGM Studios di Orlando perchè come Turner avevano molti mezzi impegnati a coprire le Olimpiadi di Atlanta e quindi non riuscivano a avere una produzione sufficiente da mandare in giro per gli Stati Uniti a produrre Nitro (e in più comunque eran abitualmente da quelle parti per registrare WCW Pro Wrestling). Finite le Olimpiadi ripresero a girare gli States.

Non ricordo bene la dinamica, ma mi pare che Warrior come al solito stava dando i numeri e chiedeva tipo il 97% sui ricavi del proprio merchaindising venduto...

"The Warrior had finally pushed the WWF too far, and they threatened to suspend him indefinitely unless he posted an appearance bond that he would forfeit if he no-showed any more appearances. Warrior refused, and was pulled from the International Incident PPV and all other scheduled appearances. "

In seguito alle mancate apparizioni di Warrior in diversi show che prevedevano la sua presenza, la WWF volle che Hellwig firmasse un accordo in base al quale si concedeva alla compagnia il diritto di recesso immediato in seguito ad altri no show di UW.
Dall'altra parte, però, Warrior giustificò la sua assenza con il dover stare vicino al padre morente (con McMahon che sottolineò, invece, il fatto che Hellwig non avesse mai tenuto così tanto al proprio genitore), ed aggiunse che dietro alle motivazioni della WWF si nascondesse in realtà un inadempimento contrattuale della fed, nello specifico il non avergli dato parte dei proventi derivanti dalla vendita del suo merchandising.
Da qui anche la causa che Hellwig intentò alla WWF, e che lo vide vincitore, in relazione alla titolarità dei diritti del nome e della gimmick "Ultimate Warrior"

Lo vide vincitore, ma -per non incorrere più in casini sui diritti- dovette cambiare nome all' anagrafe, diventando Warrior a tutti gli effetti.
Con il marchio "OWN" {One Warrior Nation, "NWO" al contrario} fece tutto per benino, ma le vendite del merchandise relativo risultarono ai minimi storici.
