TW WRESTLING AWARDS - Il meglio e il peggio del 2014

Ma non discuto che qualcuno possa pure votarla come peggior promotion, considerando pure che il 95% degli utenti qui segue solo WWE e TNA e quindi di scelta non ne ha molta, ma qual'è il senso di scrivere "seguo solo la WWE" e poi votare la TNA?

E' una cosa che detestavo dieci anni fa mi irrita ancora adesso, parliamo di quello che abbiamo visto, non di quello che ci immaginiamo.

Poi mi ritrovo a fare discussioni surreali con gente che esalta la ROH senza averla mai neanche vista, solo perché Punk e Bryan provengono da lì.

Chiedo venia, ho seguito solo poche puntate di Impact su Nuvolari, e basandomi sui commenti di utenti che seguono molto più wrestling del sottoscritto ho optato per la TNA come peggior promotion, comprendo le vostre considerazioni comunque, non volevo di certo scatenare diatribe

Boh, addirittura io seguendo solo WWE e TNA non me la sento nemmeno di dire quale possa essere la Promotion peggiore visto che il mio parere è appunto viziato da una scelta troppo ristretta.

Vabbé, se uno specifica che segue solo quelle due poi ci sta pure, è il lettore che poi deve trarre le conclusioni e tarare il voto.

Non è successo niente figliuolo, è solo che chi sta in giro da qualche secolo come me si è trovato spesso a dover difendere la TNA dagli attacchi di chi non la seguiva, e gli è rimasto il riflesso

Che poi anni fa si doveva farlo anche con le indies, oggi invece la maggior parte dei forum ha compreso quale sia il valore del wrestling indipendente, e sta conoscendo piano piano anche le scene internazionali più importanti.
Solo la TNA "gode" ancora di questo pregiudizio internettiano. Al contrario la ROH e il CMLL invece sono sempre straordinari.

Paige vs Emma è un match carino ma non è niente di che, le due hanno fatto meglio anche in un rematch di qualche settimana dopo.
Natalya vs Charlotte è decisamente un match superiore.

PARTE I: Best of the Best of the Best of 2014

Wrestler of the year: Seth Rollins, da "terza pedina dello Shield" a The Future of the WWE. Finora è riuscito a sostenere il peso del Main Eventing, cosa che sinceramente non pensavo.
Tag Team of the year: James Storm & Abyss . No, dai. Mi piacerebbe dire Gold & Stardust perchè è un team costruito passo dopo passo con questa mini-redemption (il 2014 è l'anno dell'abuso di questo termine) di Dustin. Mi piacerebbe però dire pure i Wolves per premiare una categoria tag team della TNA che ha provato a tirarsi sù con la qualità in-ring. E premio proprio loro, i Wolves.
Match of the year: Daniel Bryan vs Triple H, Wrestlemania XXX. Ricordo una birra che tenevo in serbo per questo match, per vendicare quella mal sorseggiata di Summerslam 2013.
Feud of the year: mah, Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins o James Storm's Revolution. Per non sembrare troppo mark vado di Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins.
Face of the year: Daniel Bryan, per i pochi mesi che è riuscito a rimanere on-screen.
Heel of the year: Seth Rollins.
Rookie of the year: rookie... rookie... boh, sinceramente. Chi è rookie qua?
Newcomer of the year: Sting. E' basta quell'unica apparizione.
Best female: cazzo, ad ogni categoria penso alla TNA per poter darle qualche premio e mi rendo conto che pure la loro KO Division è agli sgoccioli... vabbè AJ Lee dai.

PARTE I: Best of the Best of the Best of 2014

Wrestler of the year: DEAN AMBROSE, un fenomeno in tutto quello che ha fatto, uno dei pochissimi che riesce a stare a galla anche senza una scrittura adeguata, e uno davvero completo in tutti gli ambiti. Tra l'altro il fatto che la WWE produce show in regime di TVPG così rigoroso limita sicuramente quello che potrebbe dare. Se avessero un minimo di lungimiranza dovrebbe essere lui a detronizzare Lesnar.
Tag Team of the year: GOLDUST & STARDUST, nulla di trascendentale per carità, ma bene o male in questa versione i due fratelli Rhodes continuano a piacermi; ho apprezzato il fatto che anzichè svolgere l'ennesimo inutile feud tra fratelli si sia trasformato Cody in Stardust, al quale stare insieme al fratello fa solo che bene. Cody onestamente non l'ho mai visto come main eventer, Dustin nonostante l'età è in buona forma, e io che l'avevo dato per finito quasi 10 anni fa quando girava in TNA con un topo in una gabbietta.
Match of the year: FULL METAL MAYEHM WOLVES VS TEAM 3D VS HARDYS, sono un appassionato di questo genere di match, non siamo ai livelli dei match di questo genere di inizio millennio con Edge e Christian al posto dei Wolves, ma sicuramente molto godibile, ho apprezzato tutta la serie in crescendo dei match, coi Dudleyz e gli Hardys che nonostante l'età nei tag team match fanno ancora la loro porca figura.
Feud of the year: SETH ROLLINS VS DEAN AMBROSE, non una grande scelta alla fine quest'anno, mi è anche piaciuta in TNA il feud che a portato Ray a schiantare la Carter sul tavolo.
Face of the year: DANIEL BRYAN, non sono di certo il suo più grande fan, ma è stato portato a vincere il titolo a WM per acclamazione popolare, come non votarlo.
Heel of the year: HHH & STEPHANIE MCMAHON, nonostante tutta la vicenda dell'Autority andata avanti per oltre un anno non mi sia piaciuta particolarmente per come si è sviluppata, i due hanno sempre offerto ottime interpretazioni, soprtattutto Steph che è pure tornata sul ring, seppure contro Brie.
Rookie of the year: LANA, un pò per mancanza di alternative, un pò perchè senza di lei Rusev sarebbe già in prossimità del jobbone di rito per uno come lui, un pò perchè è una gran topa.
Newcomer of the year: STING, pochi minuti sul ring a Survivor Series, faccia a faccia con HHH con tanto di Scorpion Death Drop sono più che sufficienti.
Best female: PAIGE, sul ring spicca rispetto alla mediocrità delle altre, al microfono è abbastanza un'agonia però.
Best in-ring performer: SETH ROLLINS, mi ha sempre divertito, sia nei tag team match con lo Shield nella prima parte dell'anno, sia nei match con Ambrose dopo.
Best on mic: DEAN AMBROSE, tra i wrestler a tempo pieno nettamente il migliore.
Best gimmick: DEAN AMBROSE.
