Come vi è sembrato Compton all'anniversario? A me il match è piaciuto, ma mi aspettavo qualcosa di più da parte sua.

Si è preso dei bei bump, ma scarso nello SCUM era e scarso è rimasto. Non che Steen abbia fatto la prova della vita, intendiamoci.

Steen & Bucks( ) vs Elgin(il deadlift german suplex su Steen ) & Briscoes match della serata, con Hero-Strong e il match per il titolo subito dopo.
Strong vs Hero è l'ideale successore del match che ha visto il ritorno di AJ, che porta avanti la storia dei "cavalli di ritorno" che si trovano sulla strada della Decade.
Taven-Cole mi ha sorpreso per quanto fosse over lo sfidante e per quanto abbia messo in difficoltà il campione. bello il post match con tutti quelli che orbitano attorno al titolo a "sfrattare" Cole dal ring.

per il resto: Page & Alexander vs Jacobs e Whitmer porta anche qui avanti il percorso della Decade, anche se non mi aspettavo che Page si arrendesse a diventare la puttanella dei tre; gli Outlaw Inc. che fanno meno danni del previsto, anzi risultano anche utili; e Lethal-Young risulta un discreto opener.


in sostanza uno show da 7, che nella prima parte matura la sufficienza per poi piazzare la tripletta di matches finali uno meglio dell'altro.

Cole-Hero di Raising The Bar Night 2, è tanta tanta roba.
intenso, violento, tirato quasi senza pause e quando ci sono sono nascoste nella narrazione. ne escono benissimo entrambi, con un Cole cinico e calcolatore, che giustamente mantiene e va a regolare i conti con Jay.
forse è giusto mancato un filo più di selling da parte di Hero, del lavoro al ginocchio fatto da Cole. tipo la corsa finale attorno al ring, pur standoci nell'ottica di un Cole calcolatore, stona un pochino.

gran bel vedere anche Bucks-reDRagon, con i fratelli over come la figa. match che si discosta pure dal classico superkick party, con l'inserimento nella narrazione, dell'infortunio alla mano di Matt.

Steen-Alexander serviva per far fare la Prestazione a Cedric, e così è stato, facendolo uscire a testa altissima di fronte ad un mostro sacro come Kevin (tra l'altro bello asciutto ultimamente).

nell'undercard, per la seconda volta mi hanno sorpreso gli Outlaw Inc, e anche se Kingston qualcosa la canna, con i Briscoes esce fuori un angle-match che si lascia guardare con piacere e strappa anche qualche risata. forse con l'aggiunta di stipulazioni "hardcore", riusciranno a dare senso e coprire le magagne di Kingston e Homicide, se pensano di sfruttarli ancora.

di Bennett-Lethal le parti più interessanti sono: il tizio fan di Michael e il comedy fatto tramite Maria.

Taven vs Young e Adrenaline RUSH vs Decade riempitivi o poco più, anche se non mi aspettavo ACH e TD così dominati. però entrambi i matches portano avanti le proprie storie in modo coerente, anche se Taven continua a non convincermi.

l'opener, anche se messo lì quasi esclusivamente per tener impegnato Elgin, esce comunque bene, sfruttando anche un leit motiv che personalmente ignoravo.


in definitiva, anche questo risulta uno show piacevolissimo, anche superiore a quello della sera precedente, grazie ad un undercard che giova di un Outlaw-Briscoe per qualche verso sorprendente e sopratutto un ME di tutto rispetto.
se alla prima serata ho dato 7, qui mezzo punto in più posso metterlo tranquillamente.

Posto per la prima volta in questo topic perché sto riprendendo a guardare la ROH che avevo lasciato nel 2010.
Sto guardando un po' di roba sparsa per avere idea di cosa stia succedendo e dei feud.

Boh, non so, a me sono parsi match sufficienti o poco più. Alla fine, il 3 Vs. 3 è gradevole, ma comunque è da anni che la ROH ci sforna match del genere che sono tutti tremendamente uguali nelle svolgimento e prevedibili nella struttura. Poi oh, magari sarò stronzo io.
Anche Hero Vs. Strong mi è parso un match decisamente discreto (da 6,5 ad essere larghi) ma non ho visto sicuramente una grande prestazione (diciamo che erano nella norma ai tempi che seguivo).

We are just weeks away from Supercard of Honor VIII in New Orleans! On April 4th, Ring of Honor will once again be part of the biggest wrestling weekend in the world and we are bringing you some of the most heated matches from the greatest rivalries in ROH.

And, just a month after Supercard of Honor, ROH will be teaming up with NJPW to present GLOBAL WARS and WAR OF THE WORLDS. These 2 historic events will showcase both Ring of Honor and New Japan athletes in matches that might have once seemed impossible, but are set to happen this May!

The fallout of Supercard of Honor VIII will have a direct impact on "Global Wars" and "War of the Worlds." First of all, in New Orleans, current ROH World Champion Adam Cole will battle "Real" World Champion Jay Briscoe in a LADDER WAR. The winner of this match will be declared the true ROH World Champion, restoring the lineage of the title and ending the dispute over who is the "real" World Champion truly is. Moreover, Kevin Steen is already set to challenge the winner of Ladder War V at Global Wars for the ROH World Title.

But before he gets to Toronto, Kevin Steen has an historic opportunity set before him in New Orleans.

The IWGP Heavyweight Championship is the top honor in New Japan Pro Wrestling and - without question - one of the absolute most elite titles in the history of the sport. The championship has a near 30 year history and boasts legendary title holders such as Antonio Inoki, Vader, Keiji Mutoh, and the current IWGP Champion, Kazuchika Okada. As of right now, Okada is nearly a full year into his second title reign. The past couple years have witnessed Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi (both of whom have already been announced for Toronto and New York) wage a war for the title in some of the greatest matches in the history of professional wrestling. In New Orleans at Supercard of Honor VIII, KEVIN STEEN will take on "Unbreakable" MICHAEL ELGIN! But would already be a giant match at any event now has an additional stipulation raising the stakes...the winner of this match will challenge the IWGP Champion live at the Hammerstein Ballroom for War of the Worlds! This title has never changed hands outside of Japan. On May 17th, New York City will play host to history.

At last year's Supercard of Honor, Michael Elgin took on Jay Lethal in a show stealing contest that many list among their favorite pro wrestling matches of all time. It is also worth noting that Steen earned his current ROH title shot by winning a 4 way match in San Antonio that also included Michael Elgin. Show piacevole ed omogeneo, piccola delusione per Cole/Hero e Jay/AJ da cui mi aspettavo un qualcosina in più, però. Non ho capito bene il perché del match di Steen come Main Event, ok che è unsanctioned ma potevi metterlo come opener allo stesso modo, ah e non hanno ancora spiegato il perché dell'attacco di Compton o me lo sono perso io? Undercard che fa quello che doveva fare, manca Hardy e siamo tutti felici, Elgin/Rowe tanta roba. Match per il titolo di coppia inferiore a quello in Texas. Pubblico cazzone che canta this is awesome quasi quasi anche a Todd Sinclair che si sistema i pantaloni. Poi deridono acaso Cole e vabbé. Il senso di chiamare Scarlett e vestirla come se dovesse andare in chiesa?

La seconda notte è decisamente la migliore.
Cole/Hero gran bel match, ma nonostante la stipulazione ancora una volta non raggiungono le cinque stelle
MOTN Bucks vs reDDragon del quale attendo con ansia il rematch

Il resto della serata è stato godibile (fortunatamente anche i match con Kingston e Cide), fatta forse eccezione per Taven/Young un po' troppo statico.

Dalla prima serata dei tapings vengono fuori diverse cose:
-Elgin che forma una stable di big men con Rowe e Hanson per fronteggiare Cole e suoi alleati.
-Compton o è entrato a far parte degli Outlaw Inc. per inculare Steen o è davvero turnato face. In ogni caso
-Ciampa finalmente sconfigge Lethal one on one. Match molto bello, con diverse citazioni al loro passato.
Nel finale Ciampa si toglie la protezione, il che indicherebbe la fine del feud se non fosse che Lethal lo pinna per la seconda con l'arbitro distratto
