So this years tournament will have 8 dates in total which means that there is the possibility of the 16 wrestlers in total to be competing. No wrestlers have been named as of this time.

Prescindibilissimo lo show dell'Anniversary, consiglio la visione giusto degli ultimi 2 match, con riserva anche del terzultimo, interessante giusto per la combinazione della New Japan Cup, con Anderson/Shibata e Goto/Gallows, infatti trasversalmente Goto ha pinnato Anderson per evitare riferimenti diretti, anche se credo in un risultato alto di Shibata, se non alla vittoria, visto il finale di New Beginning II, bello pure il tag match pre-ME con Ishii/Naito caldissimo reo del cambio di titolo ed anche qui del match di cartello della prima giornata della NJ Cup, e la seconda vittoria pulita consecutiva di Ishii mi fa credere in un Naito che avanza nel torneo a meno proprio di un depush d'affossamento. Mi aspettavo onestamente il pin di un top nei confronti dei due sopracitati, il bello del wrestling. Main event coinvolgentissimo, ero un po' preoccupato per la fase d'impostazione, visti i precedenti di Okada con wrestler del tipo di Kota, e del precedente dell'anno scorso in DDT, invece i due hanno imparato dagli errori, e tutto sommato hanno preso la scelta giusta, non hanno impostato il match in modo classico, puntando più allo spettacolo che allo storytelling, e accorciando i tempi della fase centrale, quasi azzerandola, match molto frizzante e sorprendente per booking, con il campione IWGP in balia di Ibushi per metà match. Kota che fa la rainmaker bel collegamento al precedente dello scorso anno in DDT.

Comunque alcuni matches della prossima giornata, sulla carta, sono un'autentica ghiottoneria
Speriamo che lo siano poi pure nei fatti.
Anche io, come il buon salettone, ho molto hype per Prince Devitt Vs Nakamura.
Il primo, a pelle, mi ha scatenato fin da subito un odio ferocissimo e non riesco a spiegarmi proprio il perchè.
Però, come wrestler, tanto di cappello.
Per cui... hype !

Se questo il day 1 è non è stato meraviglioso sono più che sicuro che il day 2 ci darà un candidato MOTY.
Per il Day 1 consiglio solo Ishii vs Naito e il 6 man tag

Katsuyori Shibata Vs Karl Anderson: Shibata non delude mai e anche Anderson si difende sempre piuttosto bene. Ne esce fuori quindi un match godibile. Molto bella la mossa di sottomissione finale del Giapponese. Qualcuno potrebbe dirmi come si chiama ?


Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi & El Desperado vs. Kazuchika Okada, Gedo & Jado: altro match piacevole. Come sempre.


Tetsuya Naito vs. Tomohiro Ishii: in giro ho letto che, secondo molti, il MOTN era stato Nakamura Vs Smith. Dopo aver visto entrambi i matches, devo dire che non sono affatto d'accordo e che, IMHO, è questo il match migliore della serata.
I due danno un'ennesima prova della loro ottima alchimia nel ring.
Giusto far vincere Naito e permettergli di continuare il suo cammino in questa competizione.
Inoltre sono stata molto contenta nel constatare che, almeno in questa arena, il pubblico è tornato dalla parte di Tetsuya.


Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr: Naka è sempre una garanzia all'interno del quadrato ma ha fatto davvero un pò troppa fatica per avere la meglio su un avversario come Smith che, a mio avviso, doveva rivelarsi molto meno coriaceo per uno come lui.



Nei prossimi giorni vedrò anche gli incontri di Goto e di Suzuki.

Sopra leggevo Octopus Hold, è praticamente la Black Widow che fa AJ.
Solo che eseguita da un omone di quella stazza fa un certo effetto.

Comunque evento buono nel limite del possibile, il primo turno proponeva degli scontri non troppo equilibrati.
Passano tutti i favoriti, l'unica incertezza era Naito-Ishii, ma se non volevano affossare Tetsuya questa volta doveva aver la meglio sullo Stone Pitbull per restare a galla. Viene fuori un bel match, inferiore sicuramente a quello di New Beginning (che per ora è il MOTY) ma comunque buono.
L'unica sorpresa è invece in Makabe-Fale con il passaggio del membro del Bullet Club.

Si prospetta un secondo turno sicuramente più interessante con Devitt-Nakamura e Suzuki-Goto tutto da guardare ed in prospettiva (se tutto va secondo pronostico) il secondo Shibata-Goto dell'anno e Nakamura-Naito.
