Rookie: ragazzo che ha debuttato nel wrestling da poco tempo in senso assoluto oppure chi ha già debuttato da qualche anno ma per la prima volta ha una vera e propria esposizione (ad esempio io gente come Erick Rowan, Big E Langston o Roman Reigns la metterei qua)
Newcomer: wrestler già conosciuto che debutta in una nuova federazione oppure viene riciclato con una nuova gimmick ignorando il suo passato (direi che qua rientrano i vari Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Fandango, Los Matadores, Xavier Woods, EC3 ma anche Dean Ambrose e Seth Rollins possono benissimo rientrarci avendo debuttato sul finire del 2012 o i lottatori delle indies che hanno debuttato ad NXT tipo Sami Zayn e Adrian Neville)

Rookie non vuol dire che debba aver per forza debuttato nel corso dell'ultimo anno, per esempio Adam Cole ha debuttato nel 2008 ma nel 2010 ha vinto il premio di rookie of the year, anno in cui ha avuto la sua prima vera grande esposizione.

Rowan ha debuttato nel 2003 però a parte un breve tour nel 2007 in NOAH (di cui 0 incontri trasmessi in tv) ha sempre combattuto nelle indies locali, quindi come si fa a giudicarlo come newcomer se non ci sono match del suo passato con cui poterlo confrontare?

3 match da 8, ottimi feud con Taker e Heyman (almeno fino a SS), bene anche con Jericho, con The Rock effettivamente si poteva fare di più, però insomma a me tutto sommato sembra sempre il migliore.

Per quanto mi riguarda è il terzo WOTY consecutivo che gli assegno (dopo averne assegnati tre consecutivi ad Angle), almeno a livello WWE, l'anno scorso credo di averlo assegnato ad Aries, o forse ad entrambi, ero indeciso.

Mah, insomma, dipende dai punti di vista.
Con The Rock non è che si poteva fare di più, è stato proprio un flop, da praticamente tutti i punti di vista.
Buon match con Taker, ma lontano anni luce dai precedenti scontri con Triple H a Wrestlemania.
Pausa e ritorno con il peggior match della trilogia Punk-Jericho.
Feud con Heyman che si è retto su un paio di ottimi promo e sul match con Lesnar, per poi degradare nel trash più totale e negli inserimenti a cazzo di nullità patentate. Peggior feud dell'anno a mani basse, tanto che è riuscito a tirare fuori da Punk due performance al microfono genuinamente brutte (in altrettante puntate di RAW post-Summerslam, che al momento mi sfuggono), cosa che non pensavo fosse possibile.
E adesso ruolo di basso profilo in un feud misteriosamente privo di qualunque costruzione/motivazione apparente.

Diciamo che in sè è stato un anno accettabile, ma solo se non raffrontato con quelli passati o con le performance dei vari interpreti in altri contesti.

Un match suo in NOAH andò in TV era un 3 contro 3. Lui, Richards e Akihito Ito contro Ota, Inoue e Genba.
