◆Winner: Goto (13:23) following the Shouten Kai to HASHI.
~ Goto demanded a match against Katsuyori Shibata. It should be noted than Goto & Shibata have been friends since high school.

(3) Satoshi Kojima & Captain New Japan vs. Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith, Jr.
◆Winner: Smith (11:23) with the Killer Bomb on Captain.
~ This match was originally scheduled as a 6 man, but Tenzan was forced to sit aside from suspicion of influenza.

(4) Togi Makabe, Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi vs. Toru Yano, Takashi Iizuka & Yujiro Takahashi
◆Winner: Nakanishi (11:45) via foul, Iizuka.
~ Yujiro attacked Makabe after the match yet again, and verbally assaulted him while he was down on the mat.


(5) Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuchika Okada & Gedo vs. Minoru Suzuki [Pancrase MISSION], Kengo Mashimo [K-DOJO] & Taichi [K-DOJO]
◆Winner: Suzuki (16:55) following the Gotch Style Piledriver to Gedo.
~ Nakamura could have his next challenger for the IC belt in Mashimo.
~ Okada requested a singles match against Suzuki on February 10th at THE NEW BEGINNING.


(6) Hiroshi Tanahashi & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. “The Machine Gun” Karl Anderson & Prince Devitt
◆Winner: Devitt (15:43) following the Bloody Sunday to Tanahashi.
~ Anderson aims to beat Tanahashi on Feb. 10th for the IWGP belt, could this pic be the sign of things to come?


Talk about pulling out a win, Devitt has surely put himself in the sites of the champion now. A champion cannot take a loss no matter what kind of match he is in, and with Tanahashi looking to rectify his loses from the G1. One would have to think that if he can retain over Anderson that Devitt would be open as the next challenge.
Now let’s think of this way, if Devitt somehow loses the IWGP Jr. belt to Taguchi, Devitt still retains a win over the Tanahashi. The momentum would still be there for Devitt to bounce back. Just something to think about following this win from Devitt.

Ieri sera è passato in libreria Maioli (Jeff18 sa chi è, credo), un ragazzo che anni fa si cimentò nel wrestling e si allenò in Giappone in un dojo importantissimo (con Sin Cara condivise la camera pure se non sbaglio), che è di queste parti ed ogni tanto passa a trovarmi.

Beh, mi ha detto che è riuscito, non senza qualche difficoltà, a reperire la bio di Satoru Sayama (difficoltà nate dal fatto che alcuni libri il Giappone non li esporta al di fuori dei confini) e la sta leggendo in giapponese (lfa il traduttore, quindi sì, in giapponese.

Ha detto che denota un livore incredibile dio Sayama nei confronti di gran parte dell'ambiente dell'epoca e grande astio nei confronti di tutto e tutti...a suo dire tutto nasce dalla delusione per non aver sfondato nello shootfighting..

Se non sbaglio Sayama quando smise di essere Tiger Mask e provò a sfondare nello shootfighting scrisse un libro dove smerdava tutti e svelava la natura del wrestling nipponico (booker e cose varie).

Ah sìsì, il buon Majoli, l'ho beccato come traduttore su alcuni manga.
S'è allenato al dojo della Michinoku Pro mi pare 2002-2004 come periodo.

Il libro di Sayama uscì dopo che abbandonò il wrestling che non riteneva puro per concentrarsi su quello che poi divenne lo Shooto, infatti quel libro fu un mezzo scandalo e si inimicò buona parte del panorama dell'epoca.

New Japan held a press conference today in Japan to hold the title signings for the upcoming iPPV on February 10th. The event will feature 4 IWGP title matches throughout the 9 match scheduled show.

First up from the night will see the IWGP Jr. Tag belts on the line as the "TIME SPLITTERS" will be defending their belts in a rematch against the team they beat in the "FOREVEVER HOOLIGANS". The challenging team feel that the reigning champions were nothing more than lucky in their win, and that they will reclaim the IWGP Jr. Tag belts. KUSHIDA says that this time belongs to him and Shelley as their time is now.
Romero left the press signing by saying that the TIME SPLITTERS time is over and that he will leave Hiroshima as the four time, FOUR TIME!, IWGP Jr. Tag Champion.

Next up is the IWGP Tag Team title match as the defending champions "K.E.S./KILLER ELITE SQUAD" Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith, Jr. will once again be putting the belts on the line against "TenCozy" Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima. K.E.S. defeated TenCozy back in October of last year and again the following month in the rematch. K.E.S. picked up a sold win against the World Tag League winners in Goto & Anderson at WRESTLE KINGDOM on January 4th.
Tenzan is just coming back from a minor illness that has set him back from competing in the prelude matches this month, but he says that he is ready to regain the belts. It should be noted that if TenKoji cannot win this match that this could very well be their last chance as long as K.E.S. are holding the belts.
K.E.S. has no doubt that Tenzan & Kojima will bring all they have against them, but just like last time they will fall 1, 2, 3 to the Killer Bomb. "K.E.S. is the future and TenCozy is the past."
Will the sheer strength and confidence of K.E.S. lead them to yet another win over the challenging team, or will TenCozy show their own strength as the veteran team?

The IWGP Jr. belt will be defended as "Apollo55" will clash against one another. Taguchi has never had luck at claiming the IWGP Jr. belt as his own, though he has shown much skill as being a leading Jr. champion even winning the BOSJ tournament last year. Taguchi is poised with yet another opportunity to lay claim to the belt as he faces off against his friend and closest ally in Prince Devitt. This match is being called a dream match from fans in Japan. These two know each other probably more than anyone else who are competing against one another on the show, and that match could very well be the standout of the night.

The main event of the night will see Hiroshi Tanahashi defending the IWGP Heavyweight belt, for his 7th Defense, against "The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson. Anderson holds a win over Tanahashi following last years G1 CLIMAX and he aims to prove that he can beat him again.
Tanahashi made note that Anderson is different than any IWGP Heavy/top challengers in the past. Anderson has closer to his own body size and has a lot moves quicker than any foreigners he has ever had to face. Pointing towards Anderson's former tag team partner is Giant Bernard, who Tanahashi had quite a rivalry against.
Tanahashi lost the IWGP heavy belt against Kazuchika Okada at last year's "THE NEW BEGINNING" event, so it shall be interesting to see if Anderson can pull out the upset as well against the reigning ace of New Japan Pro Wrestling.
