Poveraccia la Nox, mamma mia, dopo l'infortunio devastante dello scorso anno, ne arriva un altro all'altra gamba peraltro. Che sfiga davvero!

Il resto della puntata di buon livello, ma come prevedibile (cosa successa peraltro anche lo scorso anno), quarti di finali un po' sacrificati in una puntata sola, con le ragazze che hanno ancora un match da disputare dopo, dove sicuramente avranno molto più tempo.

Per il resto ha vinto chi mi aspettavo vincesse e le due semifinali sono interessantissime.

Un piccolo appunto su Io Shirai: oh mi piace ed è bravissima, ma per ora in tre moonsault, non ha ancora preso in pieno l'avversaria

Ed è brutto ancor di più che a giudicare dai rumors Tegan era seriamente candidata a vincere il torneo

Io poco ci credo a questo rumor, mi sembra la classica cosa trapelata per aggiungere dramma alla vicenda. Anche alla luce di quanto abbiamo visto nel torneo, non solo dal fatto che è nel lato del tabellone con Io Shirai (e come detto fin dall'inizio del topic non prendi la giapponese se non vuoi mandarla almeno in finale, specie se devi andare in ppv). Io ti dirò, vedendo il torneo io non sarei sorpreso neanche se avesse perso con la Riplay che è l'unica vera heel che hanno pompato e non mi sorprende che sia in semifinale.

Poi va bè, purtroppo mi sono spoilerato la finale . Potrei anche fare altre considerazioni che porteranno ulteriormente a non credere a questo rumor, ma aspetto la settimana prossima.

L'update sull'infortunio

Nox, who wasn't able to wrestle in the 2017 Mae Young Classic due to tearing her right ACL before the tournament, made it to the quarterfinals this year and was supposed to go further. But shortly after her match with Ripley started, Nox went for a dive to the outside and hurt her left leg when landing awkwardly. She tried to continue after being checked on by a doctor and trainer, but Ripley eventually won by referee stoppage.

In her post last night, Nox detailed just how bad her injuries from the match were: "dislocated knee cap (luckily it reset itself instantly), torn MCL & LCL, I completely tore my ACL and both meniscus (one had a 'lightening bolt shape tear' still a wizard when injured), bone contusions and I had a Segond Fracture on my left tibia."

Nox noted that, while it's going to be a long road to recovery, she's almost two months into her rehab and things are going well and are on track. Her full post is available below:

On last nights episode of the Mae Young Classic, during my match with Rhea Ripley I suffered an injury to my left leg very early on and as soon as it happened, I knew it was serious.

I tried to carry on as far as I could but a few minutes later after trying to push through the pain and finish the match, it all got too much and the match was stopped.

Being greeted backstage by the distraught faces of my friends and coaches was the most heartbreaking thing I've ever experienced and it hurt more than the injury itself.

Knowing how excited they were for me to compete this year and how hard they helped me work, then having it taken away so quickly, it was devastating! I felt as if I had let them down and it broke my heart!

Triple H was one of the first of many people there and I'll never forget the words that he & Mr Regal said.

There were many things said to me that night by people I hold so dearly that continuously play through my mind on loop, especially when I'm having a bad day mentally that help me pick up my head and give me the kick up the a$$ that I need!!!

Anyway, after being checked over by Doc, I was taken to the local hospital where I was diagnosed with numerous injuries to the left leg which included: dislocated knee cap (luckily it reset itself instantly), torn MCL & LCL, I completely tore my ACL and both meniscus (one had a 'lightening bolt shape tear' still a wizard when injured), bone contusions and I had a Segond Fracture on my left tibia....Basically my knee exploded and I made a huge mess!!

Days later, I was sent to one of the best surgeons, who also fixed my right knee and on August 23rd I underwent ACL & Meniscus reconstruction surgery which was a flying success.

Obviously this means I'll be out for a while but with the incredible Dr's and PT team at the WWE Performance Centre, I'll be back shinier than ever! We're already almost 2 months into rehab and it's going amazingly, we're right on track and smashing goals already!!

I can't thank Triple H, the Coaches, the Medic staff, my friends, family and fans enough for all the support that you've given me over the past few weeks! They've been very tough both physically and more so, mentally, but I've done it once and I can do it again.

It's going to be a long road to recovery, but it's already started and I plan on making my return special!! There's going to be some changes but they'll all be for the best! As Triple H said 'this is just a bump in the road', this isn't the end, trust me.

La Ripley avrà un push nella UK Division. Almeno in semifinale Tegan ci doveva arrivare poi che avesse battuto IO era meno pronosticabile anche se non so quanto in WWE vogliano far vincere il torneo ad un'altra giapponese perciò non bollerei il rumor sulla Nox come falso del tutto.

Magari in semifinale ci arrivava eh (ma non mi sarei sorpreso comunque del contrario ecco). Poi ripeto ci sono cose che non posso dire per non spoilerare la finale, ma diciamo che per come è stato bookato il torneo Tegan in finale secondo me non ci arrivava neanche.

Ah per me il torneo è apertissimo tra le due finaliste per diversi motivi, che sono gli stessi che mi fanno propendere nel credere poco a questo rumor.

ho seguito il torneo un po' a sprazzi ma era tipo l'unica cosa targata WWE che in un certo senso avevo intenzione di seguire se si esclude qualche segmento di NXT.
Continuo a dirlo dall'anno scorso, Toni Storm è tranquillamente la ragazza più carismatica che io ricordi abbia calcato un ring di una federazione che ho seguito. Non capisco perché non abbia vinto lo scorso anno e sarei stupito non vincesse, anche se la semifinale non è scontata per svariate ragioni. Io Shirai anche al minimo sindacale fa vedere di essere decisamente meglio di gran parte del roster attuale della WWE. Il suo quarto di finale comunque mi è piaciuto abbastanza. Peccato per la Nox, sfiga senza dubbio ma non credo comunque al rumor che fosse la vincitrice designata. Speriamo si rimetta presta e che l'infortunio non sia grave come è parso sul momento. La gamba le è proprio rimasta sotto nella caduta.
Yim e Martinez solite certezze. Gran match quello tra quest'ultima e Meiko Satomura. A proposito di quest'ultima, la conoscevo solo per fama. Avevo visto davvero poco però eccezionale davvero.

Praticamente il ginocchio le si è spappolato. Entità del recupero è più o meno come il precedente infortunio

non avevo letto, mi dispiace. Con il ginocchio non si scherza; a maggior ragione visto che non è il primo infortunio si dovrà prestare la massima attenzione alla cura e, al rientro, almeno in un primo periodo, evitare certi bump. Non credo la WWE la mollerà, se sarà sostenuta, soprattutto a livello psicologico, ha tutto il tempo per tornare.

Comunque è assurdo che il medico le abbia fatto continuare il match, forse se la sarebbe cavata con meno se il match fosse stato fermato subito.

beh li è questione di attimi. Magari lei stessa a caldo ancora non ha avvertito l'entità dell'infortunio e la voglia di continuare ha fatto il resto.
