A Luglio del 2012 si terrà in Italia un seminario di Catch Wrestling con il leggendario maestro Billy Robinson, che è stato a sua volta allenato da Billy Riley nella famigerata palestra “Snake Pit” di Wigan in Inghilterra.
Nato nel 1939 Robinson uno degli ultimi veri esperti rimasti che possono insegnare il vero “Catch as Catch Can Wrestling”.

Robinson è capo istruttore presso Scientific Wrestling (http://www.scientificwrestling.com)
una delle scuole più ricercate per quel che riguarda il catch, grappling e submission wrestling.

Tra i numerosi allievi di Billy Robinson ci sono anche:

-Kazushi Sakuraba, conosciuto come “Gracie Hunter” per avere affrontato e battuto quasi tutti i membri della famiglia Gracie, fondatori del Brazilian Ju-Jitsu e creatori della UFC.

Billy Robinson è un uomo che ha direttamente allenato ed influenzato alcuni dei migliori fighters degli ultimi 20 anni.

Robinson è anche stato un importantissimo personaggio del Wrestling internazionale, nella sua carriera ha lottato in tutto il mondo, diventando una vera e propria leggenda grazie ad importanti incontri come lo stupendo match del 1975 contro Antonio Inoki, match che è stato soprannominato dalla stampa Giapponese come "The Match Between the World's Top Two Technicians". Storico anche il pareggio durato 60 minuti con l’allora WWWF (WWF/WWE) World Champion Bob Backlund nel 1982, i diversi incontri contro Nick Bockwinkle, e altri icontri con vere stelle del wrestling quali Andre the Giant, Gigante Baba, e l’Uomo Tigre (Tiger Mask).
