ECW Hardcore TV 15/8/1997
Perlopiù video di quanto successo a Born To Be Wired, con qualche piccola aggiunta, tra cui è da notare qualche spezzone di un Funk vs Douglas a Pittsburgh, in cui l'intervento di Sabu è costato il titolo all'eroe di casa (e solo lì) Shane Douglas. Per il resto qualche promo... Lawler, Taz, Dreamer...

Summerslam è stato molto piacevole anche se i segmenti extra-wrestling sono di un trash terribile, non mi soffermo nemmeno.

I primi match molto ma molto carini, soprattutto grazie a quattro lottatori che una storia riuscivano a portarla sul ring: grande ovazione del pubblico alla vittoria di Mankind sul futuro HHH, divertente il momento in cui il piede di Foley iniziava ad andare a ritmo scatenando il Dude Love che c'è dentro di lui. Bello anche Pillman vs Goldust. Questo Goldust, che nei promo esce dalla "maschera" che si è creato per vivere la sua normalità, è uno dei miei Goldust preferiti.

Tag Team Match bah e meh.

Bello brawleroso l'European Title Match anche se in ppv questi finali non mi vanno molto a genio.

L'Eight-Man brawlerata anche skippabile se non che sono mezzo mark di Crush.

Owen Hart (c) vs. Steve Austin lo conosciamo bene, purtroppo. Un match molto bello con un finale sbagliato: ora avrebbero chiuso il match in fretta e furia ed evitare quel goffo tentativo di Owen di perdere tempo e un Austin "semi-paralizzato" che altrettanto goffamente trova il pin. Al di là del finale, un infortunio che è crocevia per entrambi e anche questo lo sappiamo. Peccato perchè il match fino a quel momento era venuto su benissimo, tanto che sarebbe potuto essere il MOTN.

The Undertaker (c) vs. Bret Hart bello bello bello, tutti e tre hanno recitato perfettamente il loro ruolo, Shawn Michaels compreso. Spettacolare il timing tra i tre lottatori, incredibile l'alchimia tra Bret e Shawn nonostante il loro reale odio... spaventosamente venuta bene la sediata in testa ad Undertaker, il "terzo incomodo" ma assolutamente non fuori posto. Anche questo è un match "crocevia" per tutti e tre i lottatori.

Gran bel ppv, poco altro da dire.

ECW Hardcore Heaven 17/8/1997
PPV dignitoso, ma sicuramente non al livello di Barely Legal.
Si inizia con Rude, che quel lunedì aveva esordito a Raw come parte della DX, e introduce Candido sul ring per il suo match, salvo essere sbattuto fuori da Tod Gordon. Nota a margine, illuminazione scarsa e volume delle musiche di ingresso bassissimo.
Il match di apertura è abbastanza buono, con Candido che se la gioca al suo meglio contro Taz pur uscendo sconfitto, ma mancava l'atmosfera da big match, nonostante fosse venduto come uno dei main event...
Bigelow vs Spike è come doveva essere, un massacro in cui Bigelow lanciava sempre più lontano Spike, fino ad arrivare al primo dei lanci nel pubblico per poi chiudere con un Moonsault.
RVD vs Snow è abbastanza buono nel suo essere una spotfest, anche se la fine è abbastanza uscita dal nulla. Comunque vittoria per RVD...
Dudley Boyz vs PG-13 si lascia guardare, ma non è niente di speciale, finisce all'improvviso con una 3D quando finalmente iniziava a prendere un bel ritmo. Il pubblico era giustamente distratto da Jenna Jameson a bordo ring...
Non capisco il senso di far fare un promo a Lawler nel backstage e fargli ripetere le stesse cose quando sale sul ring.
Dreamer vs Lawler ha del buon simbolismo, ma è troppo troppo lento e l'overbooking a luci spente è utilizzato troppe volte per essere più che decente.
Il Triple Threat messo dopo il match precedente mi ha ucciso, davvero. Li ringrazio di aver abbassato la durata rispetto al 1994 da un'ora a 25 minuti, ma mi è sembrato comunque troppo. Meglio comunque finchè Sabu è restato sul ring, come nell'originale l'ho visto stranamente poco botchoso.
