I primi due hanno tenuto standard qualitativi altissimi, premio l'austriaco semplicemente per una questione quantitativa. Al terzo posto Ospreay, che ha fatto il salto di qualità da eccellente high flyer a eccellente total package.

Tag Team of the year:
1) Aussie Open
2) Flamita & Bandido
3) The Rascalz
Annata galattica degli Aussie tra FCP e PROGRESS, anche come singoli. Seguono due ottime coppie flyer che hanno caratterizzato le indies americane alla grandissima. Spiace l'aver tenuto fuori i CCK, ma sono stati penalizzati dalla poca continuità, pur avendo tirato fuori cose eccellenti.

Match of the year:
1) Will Ospreay vs Jimmy Havoc PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 75 These Violent Delights Have Violent End
2) WALTER vs Jordan Devlin OTT Wrestlerama 2
3) Aleister Black vs Johnny Gargano NXT Takeover War Games II
Il primo è il supermatch che è andato a chiudere (?) la rivalità più bella degli ultimi anni. WALTER/Devlin è stato un qualcosa di speciale, con uno storytelling grandioso e con lo shock finale. Black/Gargano grandissimo incontro, il mio preferito dell'annata NXT.

Feud of the year:
1) Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa
2) Eddie Dennis vs Mark Andrews
3) Jordan Devlin vs WALTER
I primi due due super feud, ho preferito il primo per la qualità più alta in ring (e perchè l'annata di Andrews è stata molto deludente)

Face of the year: Jordan Devlin
In OTT è ormai il top name e un draw pazzesco.

Heel of the year: Eddie Dennis
Lavoro sublime sul suo personaggio, è incredibile come abbia mandato avanti un feud rimanendo infortunato per gran parte dell'anno.

Rookie of the year: Ronda Rousey
Va beh, che le vuoi dire?

Newcomer of the year:
1) Bandido in PWG
2) Marko Stunt in GCW
3) Ricochet in NXT
Bandido ha tirato fuori un'annata strepitosa in California (e non solo), Stunt è la scoperta dell'anno di Janela, Ricochet lo conoscete benissimo.

Best female: Jinny
Titolo in PROGRESS, buonissime prestazioni e qualche signor match intergender.

Best in-ring performer: WALTER
A mani bassissime.

Best on mic: Eddie Dennis
Una serie di promo meravigliosi.

Best gimmick: Johnny Gargano
Complesso, intrigante, in evoluzione.

Most improved wrestler of the year:
1) JD Drake
2) Chuck Mambo
3) LJ Cleary
Da "compagno scarso di Henry" a protagonista di grandi match (Riddle e Lee) il primo; super annata per il secondo, con una grande performance contro Sabre e la vittoria della World Cup; Cleary invece è il talento irlandese più puro del panorama.

1) PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 78 24 Hour Progress People
2) PWG Battle of Los Angeles Stage Two
3) PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 68 Super Strong Style 16 Day Two
Del primo ne ho parlato fin troppo. Show PWG ottimo, con WALTER/Thatcher e Dragunov/Shingo da ricordare e un super main event. Show PROGRESS dalla qualità media altissima e con una perla come Sabre/Starr.

Promotion of the year:
1) PROGRESS
2) OTT
3) wXw
A testimoniare la grande annata europea. A ridosso della wXw, la GCW, che offre un prodotto unico.

Comeback of the year: Ilja Dragunov returns at wXw 16 Carat Gold
Assurdo, tutti pensavano si fosse ritirato e invece è tornato alla grandissima.

Moment/segment of the year:
1) Will Ospreay challenges Jimmy Havoc at SSS16 Day Three
2) Doug Williams retires in Wembley
3) Trent Seven defeats Zack Gibson in five seconds
Tre momenti molto diversi, ma tutti importanti.

Shocking moment of the year: Roman Reigns announces his retirement

Breakout Star of the year:
1) David Starr
2) Ilja Dragunov
3) Bandido
Starr ha fatto un'annata assurda, era già bravissimo, ma ora è esploso. È pronto per fare il main eventer. Gli altri due, come già detto, sono esplosi diventando protagonisti delle top indies.

Best Comedy Match:
1) Angel Cruz vs Fabolous Nicky OTT A Haven For Monsters
2) Doblone vs Riot vs Nick Lenders ICW Fight Forever 4
3) Anti Fun Police vs Team Tremendous PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 79 One Big Neck With Sausage Hands
Tre grandi comedy match. Nel primo c'è un Seven in forma assoluta, il secondo ha unito alla perfezione comedy e storytelling, grazie ad un pubblico molto partecipe. Il terzo ha avuto un paio di momenti favolosi.

Best Ultraviolent Match:
1) Masashi Takeda vs Nick Gage vs Isami Kodaka vs Markus Crane GCW NGI3: Thy Kingdom Come
2) Cyclope vs Miedo Extremo GCW Jimmy Lloyd's Birthday Party
3) Miedo Extremo vs Eric Ryan GCW Hit Em Up
Qua poco da dire, tre massacri.

Best Tournament:
1) Super Strong Style 16
2) Battle of Los Angeles
3) Nick Gage Invitational 3
Premio il SSS16 sulla BOLA perchè, pur con un primo turno molto più debole, ha avuto la fase finale più forte. Poi il NGI3, coronato da una super finale. Delusione assoluta il DTTI.

Most Surprising Match: WALTER vs Timothy Thatcher PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 62 Fear No More Come To Dust
Beh, il match che ha dettato lo stile dell'annata PROGRESS (e non solo) e che ha elevato l'austriaco a macchina da guerra.

Best in Italy: Nemesi
Di poco su Akira per la maggior continuità e come (piccolo) premio alla carriera

Best Match in Italy: Akira vs Eron Sky ICW Fight Forever 4
Match che non avrebbe sfigurato come main event in PROGRESS, OTT o FCP. Finale shock con l'apertura della storyline che caratterizzerà il 2019 italiano. Subito sotto, Ospreay/Dunn (forse più bello, ma meno importante) e Akira/Sky/Corleone/Excellent.

Hardest Battle of the Year: WALTER vs Mark Davis
Un gran massacro.

Stable of the Year: Undisputed Era
Più per mancanza di alternative, ma comunque un buon anno per loro.

Best Title Reign of the Year: WALTER as PROGRESS World Champion
