Bayley è stata una delusione. Ad un certo punto hanno provato a dargli il mondo in mano ma ha fallito miseramente e spero possa riprendersi perchè ad NXT era pazzesca.
Da qui a dire che l'hanno trattata loro male, no. Gli hanno dato il mondo, ha deluso e ha cominciato anche ad essere fischiata perchè si intravedeva che qualcosa non andava. Ha avuto moltissime chance e certamente molte più di una Becky Lynch.
L'unica cosa che può rimetterla in gioco è il fatto che è stato un anno terribile per la WWE, stile 1995.
La divisione femminile è praticamente regredita rispetto al 2016. Analizziamo..
Alexa Bliss - Zero spunti, regno noioso, match brutti e sempre uguali.
Naomi - Campionessa solo perchè fa due salti, è tamarra e si veste fluo. Imbarazzante al mic e mai covincente sul ring. (Colosso, come cazzo fai a votarla come wrestler dell'anno io non lo so)
Sasha - L'unica che ha cercato di dare un po' di senso alla divisione e forse l'unica vittima di un booking criminale che non le permette di essere campionessa più di 2 giorni e che non le permette di turnare heel per essere "The Boss"
Nia Jax - Boh.
Carmella - Estremamente acerba.
Charlotte - Da face non rende come da heel.

L'unica cosa che si salva quest'anno, è la divisione femminile di NXT che ha fornito diversi spunti interessanti tra Asuka, Ember Moon, Peyton, Nikki Cross, Kairi Sane. Per il resto, il Main Roster è stato un disastro.

Ripeto se è come dice te, perché dare a lei la title shot a Summerslam? Se questa in ppv "sbaglia tutti i match", perché darle un altro match in ppv (nel secondo per importanza), dopo averla distrutta per mesi?




Myles ma quale mondo in mano? ti ripeto da dicembre 2016 ad agosto 2017 non ha vinto un match pulito uno vs uno. Quando ha vinto è stato sempre o per errore arbitrale e per interferenza esterna, e non stiamo parlando di un heel ma di una babyface che più babyface non si può. Roba degna del regno di Rey Mysterio del 2006.

L'hanno fischiata quando le hanno fatto fare i promo da ritardata "non sono qui per fare male agli avversari, ma per far sorridere la gente" (che cazzo fai a fare la wrestler, fai il clown), quando ha infranto la streak di Charlotte imbrogliando, quando ha detto a Steph che aveva ragione ma non le avrebbe ridato il titolo, e quando in estate le hanno dato la title shot a caso a Summerslam dopo che ha perso per mesi e mesi, contro la stessa persona con cui ha avuto un feud di merda.

Lei non avrà brillato, ma nessuno sarebbe andato over così.

Guardando solo Lucha Underground non perdo tempo a votare gli altri parametri, ma il mio WOTY è senza dubbio Kenny Omega

Perchè provi a rilanciarla visto che hai 2 wrestler in quel roster. Un minimo di flessibilità.

Premettendo che potevano mandarle anche una Mickie James a quel punto (visto che a livello di sconfitte stava lì), ma se come dici tu hanno poche wrestler nel roster, seppellirne una in quella maniera per poi doverla rilanciare un mese e mezzo dopo ha ancora meno senso scusa.

Piuttosto fai come la Jax che abortisci il push e la usi poco on screen, finché non sarà un minimo pronta (se lo sarà mai).

Una ha potenzialità (Bayley) l'altra non ne ha (Jax) chi delle due spingi?

Le candidature di @Mystogan secondo me aprono la questione sul fatto se si possa considerare o meno face un personaggio come Aleister Black.

Gimmick dell'occulto non sono una novità, ma il suo sincretismo tra esoterismo europeo e meditazione orientale ricalca un typos ormai alquanto comune nella narrazione contemporanea del fantastico, soprannaturale e gothic. La base del personaggio è però in accordo con la pretesa postmoderna del "satanismo disincantato" o "satanismo artistico", di chi non si fa remore ad impiegare simbolismo satanici perché sostiene di non credere nell'esistenza di Dio e del Diavolo.

The Undertaker abita il mondo dell'occulto, ma la sua collocazione face è scusata dal suo ruolo a tutela dell'ordine naturale della morte. Addirittura, i monaci che intonano gregoriani al suo passaggio, lo "santificano", lo dipingono come la versione texana di un Angelo della Morte. Può spaziare dal face all'heel agevolmente, anche se nell'ultimo decennio l'abbiamo visto quasi soltanto come un face sui generis.

Da Wyatt invece non potremmo mai aspettarci una sfumatura face.

Perché Black lo accettiamo come face? Probabilmente perché i caratteri più estremi e malevoli della sua gimmick sono nascosti dietro il fare da maestro orientalista. Io l'ho votata come gimmick migliore proprio per questo nascondimento ben riuscito, per cui si può accettare di vederlo agire come face ma ragionando sul suo personaggio si avverte immediatamente la contraddizione.

Fondamentalmente, lo apprezzo perché a mio avviso è uno dei migliori esempi attuali di come il paradigma binario classico sia stato superato e per diversi personaggi non si possa più parlare di face ed heel.

I buoni e i cattivi in realtà oggi sono sempre più necessari se non vogliamo che le federazioni diventino di tipo esclusivamente sportivo.

Il Bene e il Male lo possono essere, di cui ogni personaggio possa partecipare in diverse misure. Ma la narrazione puramente agonistica per me ha un ruolo ed è bene che continui ad averla accanto a quella pro/antagonistica.

Ci si lamenta spesso che in Wwe non ci sono più storie. Ma le storie passano necessariamente attraverso l'antagonismo buoni / cattivi e la creazione di personaggi ben caratterizzati. Se non ci sono queste cose, si ha un wrestling puramente sportivo dove conta solo il lottato e la performance agonistica. Ma allora non esisterebbe neanche più lo sport-entertainment, e bisognerebbe considerare il fatto che senza storie il wrestling alla fine è noioso e ripetitivo.
