TV. L'ultimo show AJPW live su Samurai!

All Japan held a press conference for their upcoming Champion Carnival tournament that begins this weekend.

This year marks the 34th year that the Champion Carnival will be head and 12 wrestlers will be vying go for the coveted trophy and a future shot at the Triple Crown belt.

8 wrestlers were present for the press conference with Kashin, Zeus, Doering, and the current reigning Triple Crown champion Akebono unable to be present for the conference.

Last years winner in Jun Akiyama kicked off the press conference as he made it clear that he is aiming for a consecutive victory in the Carnival. Which would made him the 4 man ever to do so (behind Baba, Hansen, Minoru Suzuki). Akiyama asked everyone to fight hard, especially to Akebono, who has been sidelined in recent weeks due to illness. Akiyama made his intentions clear that he is going after the Triple Crown once more.

Suwama stated that this will be his 10th consecutive year of competing in the Carnival and that this year will be very important at it is the first in the “Shinsei” era. Suwama stated that “Evolution” aims to be number 1 in the victory, and he specifically is looking to recapture the Triple Crown belt.

Takao Omori will be making his 11th appearance in the Carnival this year and aims to make this year his first time to win it. Omori has stated multiple times that he wants another shot at the Triple Crown and aims to become the champion by the end of this year.

Kento Miyahara will be the youngest man in this years Carnival and aims to come in strong in his debut in the tournament. Kento aims to make history by being the youngest to win the tournament as well as within his first year competing in it.

Osamu Nishimura will be making his 5th appearance in the Carnival and aims to showcase his in-ring psychology against the powerful based wrestlers in his block.

Akebono left a message in his absence. He stated that he aims to be ready for the Carnival and that his latest illness is not going to keep him from fighting hard.

Go Shiozaki will be making his second appearance in the Carnival this year and aims to win this years tournament and earn another shot against Akebono.

Yutaka Yoshie stated that he is grateful for the opportunity to once more compete in the Carnival and aims to rectify his injury that suffered while competing in the tournament two years ago. Yoshie then called out KENSO as the man whom he cannot wait to face.

KENSO stated that he will be in top form heading into the Carnival for his 4th time competing in it. KENSO stated that he will win for DK (Dark KingDom) and is looking forward to Yoshie’s challenge against him.

The 2014 edition of the Champion Carnival is set to begin on April 13 and will run throughout the course of this month with the final day on April 27.
